'17 MS RB Cam Akers (FSU commit 12/27)

Why do ya'll get so emotionally invested on kids who have never played a snap in college?

I remember all the hype over landing 5* Drew Richmond in 2015. Two years later he's had zero impact and has been outplayed so far by a 3* (Chance Hall) nobody was talking about on signing day 2015.

I've already said Ty Chandler is more impressive on film than Cam Akers. And I believe he will be the better college RB ultimately.

If we lose this recruit, I'll fair to say it was due to some negative recruiting. Now, a lot of that negativity is fulled from right here. CRG has put in to much work on Cam. He went just as hard for Jelly and look where that got us. All those that have sharpened their Guillotines down to the size of an ax waiting on Butch to removed and calling for his head. You reap what you sow. But, hey here's to unity and a commitment tonight from Cam.

I agree. Losing to SC and Candy have too much ammunition to opposing coaches.

These posts are my favorite.

You have to laugh at all these "updates" on a guy who has kept quiet all recruitment and is still not talking to anyone. It's all worthless til he commits.

you could almost hear the birds chirping in this thread last night leading into this morning.

very, very toxic now

it was fun while it lasted. christmas just happened and new years is right around the corner. Vols play Friday. Time to focus on what you have to be happy about and iron your orange for Friday.

I'm not against lowering the ban hammer on the obvious troll posts and "i done heard" gossip posts in the last 20-ish pages, though.

That being said, the talk of Butch being out in a year or two, while CJF has a 45 MIL buyout clause means he's not going anywhere. Stability vs (Perceived) Uncertainty

we'll be favored in 10 or 11 games next year
with or without JGuarantano at the helm
butch isn't going anywhere
negative recruiting isn't hurting UGA

I never understand the quote " you have to give the staff credit for keeping UT in it ". Does it really matter if you are "in it" in recruiting? In the end it's all about landing the player. All we did in the end was waste resources on a guy that realistically we all knew wouldn't come to ut.

I'd rather lose a recruit or two than have a coach with a buyout anywhere in the same galaxy as 45 million.

Are you saying that's a good thing for a program?

Actually having followed this stuff way to close over the years and listening to player interviews, wins and loses rarely ever have an effect on a kids decision. I mean there might be one or two instances where a kid let it sway them but by far and large their focus is totally on other things...for us it would seem otherwise...but that's just not where they put a lot of emphasis when deciding where to commit....It obviously had no effect on Trey...
