Here's another example of bad stats. These are also different than MaxPrep or the stats I posted. I'm sure there are many other various stats you could find that are not correct.

If I see him throw more than 8-9 TD in a highlight tape from his jr season, I'll take that over print. I think 1 TD was from a scrimmage, otherwise his film shows at least that the TD stats are wrong. That discredits them IMO.

Those stats are not correct; definitely not anywhere near definitive proof. In his highlight video alone, it shows more than 9 TD passes from his Jr. season (I think I counted 12). The stats from HUDL are based on his accumulated stats from all 7 games, as reported by his district. MaxPreps is not a good source for stats because they are reported from various sources.

Did you notice the URL of that link? Click the "Stats" link on their home page and see where it takes you; it doesn't get any more official than that.

And they match up exactly with what MaxPreps shows, for good reason:

Athletic Directors and members of the coaching staff (statisticians, volunteers, managers, assistants, coaches or any other coach-delegated member) are given administrative access to manage the information for their teams. They can personally publish scores, rosters, schedules and statistics on their team page. We rely solely on the coaching staff to provide any stats.
How does MaxPreps collect the team information (ie. schedules, rosters, scores and stats)? – MaxPreps Support

Of course, that doesn't mean everyone does a good job of compiling and sharing their numbers, but I suspect Bergen Catholic doesn't provide "fake" stats.

I will say I didn't notice earlier that he only played in 7 games. Stats would have been a little better had he played in the other 4 games obviously.

Absolutely. Guarantano's numbers aren't bad, of course, they're just OK. But as I mentioned earlier, BC played a hellacious schedule.

so nobody knows anything because none of the stats match the video highlights.

Maybe they are from games, scrimmages, jamborees, JR/SR year? Lots of reasons. His SO stats showed less than 1 YPC rushing. Less than 50% passing. If he threw for 9 TDs or 12, it doesn't matter so much. Its still right there with how many picks he threw. Its VN, it would only make sense that all the "claimed" stats would be adjusted. 9 or 12? Lets go with 12. Was it 13INTs or 7 total TOs? Even though multiple sources say more than 7, we'll go with 7. After all, UT is in it. LOL

just seems a bit more jumbled and heated than usual. and we should definitely use the better stats as long as he is considering us.

IMO, JMO, TIFWIW, TACOS but i think his perceived recruitment (how VN sees it and reacts) will mimic the TG recruitment. you are either for him or against him. let the debate!

I wonder why Butch took Kendall 7 months ago if there was no debate? Odd.

Highlights are good to look at. AK rushed for like 2-3x the yards JG did. Also more YPC. He could very well be the better ATH. I'd just like to see a little more to support it.

1) Not all recruits end the process as soon as
Kendall did.
2) When a quality QB like AK wants to commit you don't tell him no.

This kid has all the physical tools you could want in the bag. He's a no brainer for our offense, depending on how Austin Kendall plays out.

JG is the better athlete but since when is that the main criteria for a successful quarterback. I can name 100 QBs who are more athletic than Aaron Rodgers who can make lots of throws but aren't in the same stratosphere as him.

I personally am fine with either QB but the posters acting like one is a slam dunk better prospect than the other need to slow down.

I don't want to interrupt the arguments over stats but I have a couple of questions.

On 247 JG's listed as a pro-style QB while Rivals claims he's a dual-threat QB. Who's right? We appear to be high on his list of favorites. Butch isn't going to change his system for one prospect. Is he really high on our (Butch's) list?

Both could be right to a degree. 247 may like him as a passer more. Rivals may think he's a better runner than a passer. Its all in the eyes of the guy making the evaluation.

As for where he sits on UTs board, it's just guessing. TG was surely #1 last year, or so some were sure. Even VQ has said UT was about to get good news on a recruit only to print a story shortly after a kid commits elsewhere as to why UT had passed on the kid. Recruiting is a lot if opinions and guessing.

I don't know what Lebanon is looking at, but that is one of the more impressive highlight films I've seen in a while.

When you have more turnovers than you do TDs in HS, I'm just not buying it turning out well in the SEC. Of course the "highlights" don't show all the turnovers. We'll see how it plays out. Imo the kid would be a rather large project at QB. I'd probably not have him in my top 10 QBs for 2016. I'd take Oden long before Guarantano. Jmo

Ding ding we have a winner.

Imo that's just not an option at this point.

After thinking it over, I'd probably go all in for either Surratt(NC) or Wallace(TN) for our 2016 QB. If it plays out where UT wants 2, IMO Oden would be a reasonable take as well.

U gotta be kidding about Wallace... Kid looked lost when I saw him play last year.

Unfortunately, it's Leb doing what he does best...take the opposite view of the consensus, and then argue it for the next 500 posts. The threads have gotten so much easier to read, since I hit that little "ignore" button beside his name. Hate to ignore any poster, but his garbage became ridiculous.

I have noticed that about once in every 5000 posts for LV that he will make a post that makes sense and that's not argumentative. He is ignored by a lot of people but he still gets quoted way too much which leaves his posts out there to be seen.
