not again
Whether it be JG, Oden, or Kendall, we will end up with a high talent and highly sought out QB. Considering we got Sheriron last cycle, there really isn't anything to worry about from a qb perspective in this class.
Two or three last year shouldn't matter. New guy red shirts and fights it out for starter in 2017.
If he's confindent in his ability he shouldn't care who's in front of him.
The three in front won't be startes in front of him. He will be in a battle to take over from Dobbs against other backups.
No competition? Dobbs, Dormady, Jennings, Jones. Even if 1-2 walk, there is competition. Folks fail to realize that you DO NOT build your roster or starting line up in 1 class. "He has no one to compete against". Well except for the 3-4 class's before his and the 3-4 coming in behind him. LOL
I'd have preferred them take Dormady and Jennings only. Then Kendall would not be questioning his 6 month commitment Imo.
Watching it play out, I see it as a problem.
We could take a chance on not having four scholarship QBs and lose him anyway...that's recruiting scared and it doesn't work. JMO FWIW FSLIC
If you don't try and sneak an extra one in late, much less a chance to see a transfer right away and or have the 2016 guy questioning what he was told. A little roster stability isn't a bad thing. Jmo
Butch informed Kendall he was offering another QB for the 2016 class. I think Kendall knows what that means. 2 QBs could easily work, especially if a transfer or change of position happens before 2017-which is very likely, because of the quantity/quality we signed this yr. I'd wager Butch had that scenario in mind when taking 3 QBs this year.
2 in 2016 might look like...
SR Dobbs
SO 2015 signee
RS Fr 2015 signee (50/50 shot of transfer or position change)
RS Fr 2015 signee (50/50 shot of transfer or position change)
Fr 2016 signee
Fr 2016 signee
Then 2017 might look like:
JR 2015 signee
RS So. 2015 signee
So 2016 signee
RS Fr 2016 signee
Fr 2017 signee
