I don't believe he is saying take both, he is just saying either one would be an amazing get.

I can't speak for Butch because he is always doing things we don't expect, but I would be extremely surprised to see him take two QB's in 16'.

You're just trying to get ahead of Leb. :)

Top247 rising junior quarterback Jarrett Guarantano of Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, N.J., told govols247 that he's scheduled to visit Tennessee on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Guarantano claims scholarship offers from at least 20 teams, including Tennessee, Ohio State, Clemson, Penn State, Michigan State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin. He's ranked the nation's No. 111 overall prospect and No. 7 pro-style quarterback in the 247Sports Composite for the 2016 class.

One of Tennessee's early top quarterback targets in the 2016 class, Guarantano has at least one connection to the Vols' staff: He goes to the same school UT offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian attended.

Maybe my top QB want. Didn't know how interested he was until coming back today. My guess is we are in his top 2/3

Based on his offers, camp performances & rankings, Guarantano is clearly considered be an outstanding talent. But I still prefer Kendall at this point mostly because:
1. he's proven himself more on the field so far, and
2. he appears to be a more effective runner, at least based on his rushing stats last year.

Sophomore year comparisons

* Guarantano: 39 of 80 passing for 449 yards, 2 TDs and 3 INTs...56 carries for 42 yards & 2 TDs (Guarantano started the last 4 games of the 2013 season and split time the previous 5 with a senior QB.)

* Kendall: 111 of 181 passing for 1,668 yards, 20 TDs and 6 INTs...55 carries for 265 yards & 2 TDs

Kendall by a mile for me. He just looks much better on film as far as his release and poise in the pocket.

Guarantano may be has a higher ceiling since hes played less but right now I like Kendall better.

Good thing about it all, it doesnt matter who I like

I do think this visit was pushed by the coaches. I think Kendall is close to pulling the trigger since Georgia was the only real threat.

Anybody know if we are in it for the Haskins kid out of Maryland? I know he has visited recently. Either him or Kendall would be awesome.

I think we have a chance but Oscar Meyer and OSU seem to be favorites so far personally.

I'm starting to think one of Kendall and Guarantano is going to pull the trigger for us pretty soon if for no other reason than that they both really like us and they both know the other could be seriously thinking about committing early. Whoever commits first gets the spot. I would be thrilled with either of them.

I agree.

I hope Kendall doesn't get "Dormadied" by Guarantano. I feel he's more passionate about the Vols and would bring it for us.

I think landing TG in this class hurts their chances...huh Leb?

Yeah, I don't think Appy St for Kendall will play out. A lot of quality schools look to be more than ready to take him today. If Gibson does VERY well as a SR and gets that Appy St offer, I would expect him to commit quickly.

The lack of blue font is strong in this post.
