'16 NC QB Austin Kendall (former UT commit)

If I recall correctly, UTFF knows someone in San Antonio that followed Dormady. Seemed like a fairly non-biased poster until UT began recruiting another QB. Then began saying he was lied to based on a quote from Dormady early in the process basically stating Dormady said he thought they'd only take 2 QB's. After that, UTFF seemed to become very emotional about the situation and jumped on the LV Butchisashadylyingbastage bandwagon.

Made me believe that UTFF was a lot closer to the situation than he first alluded to. JMO.

Ever since then, it seems that any time recruiting takes a quirky turn, the 'he's dishonest' stuff starts again.

I am of the thinking that he has no idea what Dormady was truly told and when he was told, unless he truly is closetodormady. But based on the many posts that followed that situation, there definitely appears to be an agenda. Just haven't quite figured out said agenda yet.

Sound close?

EDIT: I for one do not believe that 'anything goes', but I do understand that recruiting is fluid and situations change and that sometimes notsosavory things may occur because of the changing situations.

I wish no one got hurt during the recruiting process, but that just can't be the case unfortunately.

The way I took the Fortenberry statement was the concern Kendall has for "UTs recent QB recruiting" refers to them taking 3 QB's in the '15 class. This has nothing to do with them telling him he's the one and only in '16.

Those guys did just sign. I think the word recent would cover that. Jmo

There's a difference in lying to and misleading recruits and continuing to recruit. Don't tell a guy he is the only one or one of two and then sign two more after it's too late for the first two guys to go to plan "B".

If you had the choice to sign with two teams and all things being equal except on misled or lied to you and the other didn't, which would you chose?

You have to remember though... That never happened... That we know of, so just be happy about the awesome recruiting we have going. It's ok to be happy!

Much of what you say is correct. It's not emotion that's driving it. I just don't want UT seen as a school that misleads and lies to recruits because it will start hurting down the road.

Thank you for your response. I do understand what you're saying and I don't want that either. I just wonder if the fluidness of recruiting caused the situation and it wasn't that Butch is just a flat out liar? I don't know. I'm obviously hoping that it is not the latter. I definitely do not believe that he is an Urban Meyer type.

I can't remember the exact Fort quote and not going try and look it up, but I think "recent QB recruiting" are your words not necessarily Fort's and what Fort specifically mentioned was taking the 3 QB's in '15.

Fair enough. I don't have the exact quote on hand either.

No UT fan wants that. But didn't Dormady just have surgery on his throwing arm? Factor that + the Peterman transfer, you can't begrudge Coach Jones taking a 3rd QB as insurance.

The reality is having a freshman in the 2 deep is a serious gamble Jones is forced to make. As a UT fan, I'm glad he swung the odds in his favor a little bit by taking 3 instead of 2.

Do you really think any kid that is locked in is going to publicly say such?

Michael Weber was publicly upset that he was basically lied to by his RB coach at OSU when he left for another job days after signing day, he wants a release, so yes, it happens.

You have no evidence Jennings or Dormady were deceived. No quotes, no tweets, nothing. Its an assumption.

On mobile or I would link the story:

Shady OSU? Weber 'hurt' RB coach is leaving

Would Roquan Smith not be another? It happens.

I thought JJ was getting a shot at QB just like Bruce is gonna get a look at running back. I was under the impression that there were no guarantees on them playing those positions. I thought that JJ was really being pursued as a DB.

No. That was nothing more than a sophisticated web of lies, orchestrated by Butch, to trick JJ into signing.

Then once JJ & QD were shackled on campus, it was always Butch's plan to sneak in a third quarterback, without their consent

You have to respect the assassin like efficiency of it. Butch kept the little lambs all safe and comfortable until they were useless to other teams. Then shoved their wooly tails into the corral and went for the kill in Sheriron Jones...:gone: While their little innocent cartoon eyes blinked from the corral he grabbed another QB to shove in with them..:gone: Complete the effect with evil Machavellian laughter.

Man I love the shady recruiting tactics we've got going on. I hope we taking it to the next level in '16 and beyond...still not quite shady enough IMO.
