Just curious, but what did you see Aaron Rodgers' ceiling as when he was a HS junior?
Well that's the select part of our fan base that see other kids doing it, like Johnny Football. But you have to realize those fans don't follow UT so closely or really understand football. They just hear he has talent and see a small select few doing things as freshmen and expect them to do the same things. When it doesn't happen they want to start trash talking our own players. Those kind of fans are the fake fans or just idiiots.
Are you familiar with the football forum?
Hahahaha, that's the kind of fans I'm talking about. Actually, I literally just talked with Catbone about the crazies in the FF, he posed a question about our OL being as good or better than last year-
Apparently the folks In that forum don't realize we have minimal experience on the OL this yesr, and a walk-on or former walk-on is beating out our big time Juco T, and Coleman is a true freshmen projected to start at RT-
We need Blair to continue to get in shape and learn the offense fast, even if he gets beat out to start the season, I guarantee we need him a couple weeks in, to be a quality back up or spot action.
We are bringing in some really good prospects with tons of potential and they are all big bodies in 15. Already a top 200 overall Tackle IIRC, Ryan Johnson(I think that's his name)
Couldn't tell you.
I already said it's his opinion and I'm not knocking it anymore.
I see Kendall as a good SEC QB, that can probably get drafted in the second round, a la Andy Dalton. Dalton had a rough first year, decent second year, and had two great seasons to close out his college career.
Aaron Rodgers was immediately good at Cal, though, and it was a massive surprise to fans and commentators alike.
You can tell me that's not unrealistic to see Kendall as a top 10 draft pick, but it certainly isn't fair to him.
That's why this fanbase likes to get upset with our freshmen players when they aren't making plays from the jump.
You do remember that Rodgers was "immediately good" out of Junior college...not high school?...he was lightly recruited by small colleges out of high school and Cal was his only big offer out of JC...interesting and ironic story when we're discussing comparisons and expectations.
You're coming in late; I've already stated my stance.
Y'all continue to compare recruits to future HOFer's though. It's all good.
But yes, I do know he went the JUCO route.
Real generous with the y'alls huh?... I was commenting due to the Rodgers example...if the least little thing went awry in his development, he's not on a NFL roster...much less a HOFer...I don't see anyone projecting that type of success on the young man...just similar characteristics on film...if he even plays extensively before his RS sophomore year? Something didn't go right.
