'16 NC QB Austin Kendall (former UT commit)

Who does Austin remind you guys of? Like what QB who has suited up in the Beautiful Orange and White in the past does he compare too- or what QB from anywhere, that was a fairly recent player in College Football

Honestly when I saw his tape, my initial reaction was that he looked like Aaron Murray. Similar size, not super athletic but can move around enough, quick release, and very accurate.

Shaw or Murray would both be good comparisons.I hope he has the leadership skills both these guys had.

I'm sticking with Aaron Rodgers. Similar size, elusiveness, zip on the passes.

As for UT quarterbacks, either Tee or Heath would be my guess.

I'm loving all these comparisons, we get some kind of mix of those QBs, we will be in great shape-
He does put nice zip on the ball, like I said, really like his deep ball touch.
Tn4elvis-He seems like a real smart kid, good head on his shoulders, I think he will be a leader for this team. Between Austin and QD, we have got to hit on one of these kids being an above average QB and leader of this football team. They both have tons of potential. IIRC, Austin led his team as a sophomore to the State Title. Definitely believe we have some top QBS coming to the hill.

He asked, I gave my opinion. Last I checked, Aaron Rodgers was a HS QB one upon a time.

And now he's top 3 QB in the league. It's unrealistic.

VN loves to compare our commits to top 5 players at the position and that sets unrealistic expectations before they finish their senior season.

Aaron Rodgers was just another west coast QB til he burst on the scene his junior year in college. He had two good years in college that we can realistically expect from a QB of Kendall's ilk. Before he was one of the best QB's in the NFL, keep in mind he was an average recruit who also was on the verge of falling out of the first round of the draft.

He's almost the same build, has similar positive attributes, and both are top notch players at their position in their respective competitive classes. I don't see how that's a bad comparison at all.

He said he sees comparisons to AR's game or certain things he does not he is Rodgers- we do like to compare to top notch pkayers, obviouslyright now I don't think he is Rodgers and I'm sure Brillo doesn't think he is either. Just a player he sees something that Austin could be like. Not that big of a deal. I'm sure you like to compare players to other people. LIke Dillon Bates reminds me of a Sean Lee, great on pass coverage and plays all over the field. A Team Leader, no Bates isn't Lee, he is Dillon Bates, who I believe will be an All-American at least twice. Its all in good fun and hope we get a small percentage of somebody's game we like-

On the verge of falling out, due to his poor showing at his pro day, not his college career.

I just think it's a lazy comparison to make. It's easy to look at the top 5 players at a position and say "he looks like him."

Chances are, Kendall won't be a top 10 draft prospect, and that's perfectly fine.

To me, it comes down to the fact that there are so many players that we can compare these guys to, but we choose the top players in the world.

I just don't get it. I think it's a lot more fun to make comparisons that people typically wouldn't think of.

Understandable Broheem, Brillo just thinks he has some similarities to Rodgers, no biggie.

Who does Austin remind you of? I'm real excited about him, he has a great arm and is a good kid. Really has a chance to be special for us.
I think he ends up top 3 QB in the class.

I think he's Andy Dalton-ish.

I hope he has that type of career. Those TCU teams were great when Dalton was there. Great defense propelled those teams, but Dalton had a couple of great seasons.

I can dig it!

He is 6'2" going into his junior year, I think he will end up right under 6'4". Maybe 6'3 1/2. I don't see him adding lots of weight, probably 210-215 lbs. He will be a nice size QB with good mobility and strong arm. He has to be a top 3 QB in the class, his potential is through the roof.

I think he's got a high floor, too.

At the minimum, I think he's a good game manager.

If your projection should prove to be correct, he would bear a striking physical resemblance to Jeff Francis, who, as a senior at UT in 1988, was listed at 6-4, 210 (UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics - Football). Francis was a "three-year starter at quarterback for the Vols from 1986-88. [He] threw for 5,867 career yards and 31 touchdowns to rank fifth on the UT all-time passing yardage chart. He finished his career in 1988 as the Vols' all-time career passing yardage leader" (Vols Jersey Countdown #19 - UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics).

I didn't just select Rodgers cause he's at the top of his game. I'm a Packers fan so I've followed his pro career closely, but I also was a fan of his in college. I don't see how we should exclude top players from comparisons. They are the ones most familiar to everyone, so why not?

I've already stated why, but no worries man.

Your opinion and I won't knock it anymore.

So you compare him to another starting NFL QB?
