'16 NC QB Austin Kendall (former UT commit)

If I'm the kid, I'm looking around, taking all 5 visits and keeping my options open.

If I'm Butch, I'm looking around, taking visits from any qb that is worth and keeping my options open.

Either party can leave the other at the alter and having raised 2 kids so far to adulthood........I wouldn't want to make my living on the decision making ability of 18 and 19 year old kids. Heck, extend that to 22 year old kids. We won't know a year from now how it really will play out. Just like Riley Ferguson, just like Vic Wharton. Even when they come, they might not stay. Let's wait about 3 years and we'll know what this kid is really doing.

Well, there you go again. Butch is the great Pinocchio once again, making Bill Clinton look like George Washington.

Butch has snuck in another QB in both classes he took QBs at UT. Yes, I am basing that on what the recruits themselves said. Is it not reasonable that AK would look at the current situation and see it unfolding where he would not be "the one" taken in 2016 as stated per the coaches TO HIM? Imo, it is very reasonable. Sure people can say it's him not wanting to compete. I see it as a kid expecting his future coach to tell him like it is up front. Obviously Kendall feels things have changed and he's reconsidering his position. Imo, reasonable.

I tried to give the staff the benefit of the doubt early on thinking they would follow their family, foundation, trust stuff. Now I concede they will do whatever they have to do to sign a kid. Its recruiting right? Imo recruits are not all going to buy in and or stick when they see things play out. Just the way it is.

Ignore the troll, it's tough because it so obvious, but it's working.

He had resorted to bumping commits saying they needed to be on the first page, until he found some responses to the drivel.

Stay strong!

Name a better QB from this cycle, that is better than Kendall, that we have a legit shot at.

Kendall Imo is #1. If he doesn't want to be a Vol though I'm not sure if it matters if the "next guy" is better or not. Obviously any other QB on my list would not be better IMO. Once you run off #1, you have to consider the rest IF you want to sign a QB.

Look, Kendall is committed, but there is some fear that he could flip, thus Butch is doing what he should do and recruiting more QB's. When he feels Kendall is solid, he will probably just stop IMO. Why would he stop recruiting QB's in this case when he hasn't with other positions in the past? Two things: (1) Kendall is an extremely good prospect and (2) even if Kendall flips on us late, we're not hurting that badly at QB at the moment. It's just good strategy to stop recruiting QB's if you believe Kendall is elite at the moment you're 90%+ confident he's going to stick.

I am still hopeful that he decides to stay a Vol, but if not, I hope he picks soon. We could still land a very good quarterback this class, and they usually commit pretty early.

I think when you see Kendall recruiting for the good guys this will be over. Maybe just seeing the other schools now to make sure he made the right decision.

Stopped reading there. You make it sound so devious, like he's secretly committing a crime or something.

I'm not gonna quote Lv because I don't want to torture the rest of VN. However, I somewhat agree with Leb. I don't think Butch is devious but he definitely told Jones to wait until after the EEs were official before announcing. It's backhanded but it's also SEC recruiting in general.

Pretty sure Azzanni said in a video that they were all aware and none of them made a big deal about it, that they were ready to compete and help the team. That's the kid of kids we need here imo. If you skeered then UK may be for you haha.

I would fully expect the coaches to say that. After all, it is SEC recruiting. Were the two EEs made aware they were taking a 3rd? After they were locked in, I'm sure they were. LOL

If he didn't want to be a Vol then I would think he would have decommitted by now, especially considering he is already taking visits. I personally think he wants very much to come to UT. I also believe based on the recent interview with him that was posted on TOS that the bigger issue for him was Coach Jake leaving moreso than the # of QBs. They had a reaaly tight relationship. But he said he felt more comfortable after he spoke with Coach Debord that the offense would not be changing. He also said he is not afraid of competition. I actually feel good abi ut Butch:s chances of keeping him.

I hope he does stick. He's the best QB in the class IMO. QBs committed and taking visits usually does not turn out well. We'll see what he does coming out if his visit this weekend.
