Seen him as high as 2nd round in some early mocks.
Y'all know more about his background but hard to see him passing up that type of money with another productive yr.
4-2-5 is used a lot but somehow we had two linebackers as the leading tacklers last year and the others got plenty of playing time...maybe we varied out of our 4-3 base because of injuries and lack of experienced depth (needed more linebackers)
Hope you're wrong and the coaches are right.![]()

I'm not wrong, I'm just asking a question. And maybe the coaches are asking the same question. That
would explain their lack of Twitter response to the commit.
When the 4-3 is not your base defense, and you can only sign 20 or 21, 12 seems like an unnecessary
luxury to me.
You really think so, HG?
Nah, those mock drafts you're seeing are not legitimate. No way he's a 2nd round pick right now. Last year was his first meaningful season at LB. He came to UT as a safety. He would need to have a monster season to garner legit 2nd round-type interest.
I hope Maybin doesn't leave next year. He will be the center of our defense with Sutton and Barnett for the next 2 years
Sutton will be gone if he has a great year. He'll go up against some solid WR talent this year, and if he holds his own, he'll likely get a 1st round grade come 2016 NFL Draft. I've already seen multiple mock drafts that have him going in the 1st round. The talent is there, but he's got to prove he can lock down top WRs. Cooper destroyed him, and the rest of our secondary for that matter, last year. He also was playing hurt that game as well. Altogether, Sutton has 1st round talent, and if he balls out, which I think he will, he'd be stupid to pass up on the money he'd make as a 1st round selection.
