but his offer from tennessee last week quickly changed things. Sources told govols247 that the vols already are in the driver’s seat to land buchanan, and there’s a chance he could be ready to make a decision even before his planned official visit to tennessee next month.

Buchanan isn’t a new name on tennessee’s recruiting board. The vols have hosted him on multiple visits — he attended one of their junior days in march and at least one of their home games this season — and he had developed a good relationship with their coaches even before they extended an offer to him. Playing at tennessee would allow him to be even closer to home than louisville, his father’s alma mater, would have if he had decided to stick with the cardinals, and sources said buchanan likes what he has heard about his possible opportunity in the vols’ secondary.
