'16 GA ATH Kyle Davis

A WR at UGA is about as used about as much as a WR at Army

In his career at Georgia, Murray threw for over 13,000 yards and over 120 td's. How's the WR position not used?

Now Mason is obviously a different story, added with the fact that you have Gurley and the emergence of Chubb.

I hear that talking point about WR's and Georgia as if we run the offense that Tech runs.

Don't fall for a talking point that is false.

Murray is gone tho and without him UGA attempted about 140 less passes last year than the previous year, so it would make sense WRs are weary of that trend away from a pass oriented offense.

Also, with Schotenheimer as your new OC, WRs are gonna be racking up yards on all those 4-wide-everybody-runs-short-comeback-routes plays he loves to call on third and long.

Edit: nvm actually that never works.

All time UGA receivers:
AJ Green (All-World)
Hines Wars (Consistent Pro Bowler)

Then the list goes to:
Terrence Edwards (lol)
Andre Hastings (lol)
Reggie Brown (lol)
Fred Gibson (hahaha)
Marlon Brown (Mr. UGA Underachiever himself)

That took about 2 minutes of thinking. It would take me at least 20 mins to compile YOUR TENNESSEE VOLS all time greats, because of the copious amounts to choose from. Hang your hat on those Aaron Murray passing years though. Even when we've sucked we have still had more NFL starters at receiver

You know, for all the crap being dished out about Schottenheimer, QBs under him have racked up quite a few 3,000 yard passing seasons. Sanchez had his best years with Schotty and didn't decline until 2012 .. Schotty's first year with the Rams. In fact, for a guy doing a lot of "everybody-runs-short-comeback-routes", the Rams had two QBs (because of Bradford's injury) that wouldn't start on any team in the NFL and they still combined for 20+ TDs and well over 3,000 yards passing.

WR pickings were slim for Murray in the end. Also, with your stable of running backs, the running game is the emphasis, for good reason.

I'm looking forward to see him call his butt fumble play

3. Kyle davis - other than one jump battle win in the initial drive, davis was quiet until brown went down. Then the no. 1 receiver in the country took the field for the final game against superbad and proceeded to take over the field. Playing with anger in his heart, davis strong-armed several balls in traffic, jumping up and landing with authority as if to make sure his presence was known thursday evening. Auburn, georgia and tennessee have emerged as the main contenders for davis. Whichever staff gets him should take note - when the spark is lit, davis can dominate.

Oh I guess that's why Rams and Jets fans love him so much.

Also, 3,000 yards in the NFL isn't that impressive anymore. 22 NFL QBs threw for 3,000 or more yards last year. 30 threw for 2,000 or more. 39 threw for 1,000 or more.

So more than 2/3 of NFL teams had 3,000 yard passers. With such prestigious names among them as Kyle Orton and Brian Hoyer.

You forgot a few like Mohammed Massaquoi and Tavarres King. And you're laughing at guys like Hastings and Brown yet you probably want to thump your chest over an Alvin Harper or Robert Meacham who haven't had any better careers than those guys. In fact, with Harper, we found out how good he wasn't in Tampa when there was no Michael Irvin on the other side.

Sure, you have Justin Hunter (who by all accounts should have a great career by the time it's done), Tim McGee, Carl Pickens and Pearless Price to your credit but for every one of them there is a Marcus Nash or a Kelley Washington. Of these, the last former Vol to catch for more than 1,000 yards was Price in 2002.

You guys have had some very good WRs hit the NFL but let's not throw around Hines Ward and AJ Green like they are just a couple of decent pass catchers among a group of bums. Both those guys will be in the HoF. And the for the misinformed previous poster, Ward was far more of a WR than QB or RB at UGA. And to that same point, Patterson has all the tools to be a HoF in the NFL but currently, they run him on so many jet sweeps and stuff that he has more rushing yards than receiving yards in his first two years.

Austin Davis and Shaun Hill are not NFL starters but they combined for that much. Jets fans haven't seen a decent QB since he left and if you are holding them up as the standard for football genius, I think we're done. Have you ever seen the NFL draft in NY when they draft a lineman?

Only one team didn't throw for 3,000 yards last year. The Titans had more passing yards than St. Louis last year. So did 21 other teams.

All I'm saying is that nobody whose had Schotty thinks he was any good and just because he got 3,000 yards out of two bad QBs doesn't mean anything. Hell, Cleveland got more yards than the Rams did last season. They had to play 3 different QBs, none of whom were all that good.

Don't be surprised when you see a big drop off from Bobo.

Dude those two guys don't have anything remotely close to Harper and Meachems numbers or bank account. Get out dude. Harper was a boss at Dallas regardless of what happened at Tampa.

I'm sorry all I could hear is the sound of you naming off NFL WRs that were former Vols.

Wow 247 has him #1 WR in nation? Very nice. Rivals lists him as #33. My guess is he'll be getting a huge bump soon on Rivals.

I think ESPN does as well. Rivals is the only dummies that have him low. They are giving him the Preston Williams treatment. If your not some quick shifty WR rivals thinks you aren't great
