Come on back home, Tee, and get this elite WR unit we are assembling playing the way they should be...all will be forgotten.

All will be forgotten if he comes here... Until the WRs have a bad game then the WR corps' crowder 5 equivalent and it will turn out Tee did roids to punch his grandmother and dug up general Neyland's grave.

But would Butch bring tee home or would he remain loyal to his coaches?? That is the key. I'm all for bringing tee Martin back to UT. Damn good player and a good coach as well

I've forgotten the Twitter stuff. What was it?

Everyone knew that he went back to Knoxville to interview for the TN job. When he got back to SoCal, he tweeted that he wouldnt be going back to Knoxville and that he was a Trojan. At face value this doesn't sound melicious, but in the context in which it was done, it really made Tennessee look like they swung and missed on a coach everyone thought was a lock to his alma mater. He could have been discrete in his turn down of the position. Instead, he publicized it on social media. And then a year later got caught talking smack on Jalen Hurd, whom he knew was a solid commitment to his alma mater. It is the disrespect part of the situation that I have a problem with.

Keep in mind this clown has a street named after him by the stadium.. That tends to add salt to the wound IMO.

Z was CBJ's second choice behind Tee originally. I think it would be a home run hire if Butch cuts bait with ZA after the season. Tee is an elite recruiter, better than CZA in that regard, and he actually gets the most out of his highly touted wideouts.

Okay maybe I am too sensative... Who knows at this point. Either way, it rubbed me the wrong way.

I was too at the time but I also understand this is a business and Tee is trying to climb that ladder. Leaving that stacked group of WR he had in USC to jump into a pretty tough situation at Tennessee would be a difficult decision for an up and coming coach. Then factor in his wife's wants and that's why it fell through. I think his kid being in high school now and the potential opportunity to coach him at his alma mater could be too tough for Martin to turn down this time around IMO.

You are a Vol just like me, bro. Those feelings you have would quickly go away the moment Tee stepped up to the podium as UT's new receivers coach haha

I'm not defending Z, but even Tee would have a difficult time making a receiver look great in this offense. It's mostly routes under ten yards and when it is a pass play over ten yards, it is generally an inaccurate throw. It just isn't set up well for receivers, so it is really difficult to tel if Z can coach or not. I would love to have Tee over Z for the fact that he could sell Tennessee in a way no other coach can, he can recruit better, and at worst would get the same receiver production due to the offense we run. I truly hope that hire happens

I kind of understand what you're getting at, Wick, but this unit looked a ton better after Butch coached them for one week. That tells me even more that Z is not a good coach.

I haven't paid attention to USC under Sarkisian or Kiffin, but they haven't been very good. Kentucky wasn't very good either.

What is there to support this notion that Tee is a better position coach than Azzani? I have no idea whether he is or not, just not familiar with his body of work.

You could be right. I don't think one week under Butch would make a tremendous difference. I think 3-4 and a big difference, then you could point to Z. Who knows

I just don't think it's coincidental that the unit had looked terrible and couldn't get open until last week...when Butch personally worked with them every day the following week. I'm really interested to see how they look next Saturday.

Last week was also the first time we did more than screens to be fair as well
