Do you think a head coach is not going to step in and play a guy like Hardman at the position that he looks to make the most impact. Reminds me of the kind of talk that was being said about Malcom Mitchell when he was coming out of high school. I know Malcom wanted to play WR but that kid was one heck of a prospect at DB.

Normally I agree. Pruitt seems to have Richt by the balls so I wouldn't doubt the pull he has with a kids position.

This is such flawed thinking. You can't try to force a position on a kid. If the kid's heart and soul aren't truly into a position switch, he will never end up coming close to fulfilling his potential. You gotta believe and like what you are doing to be great at something. Having a head coach "step in" and put a kid like Hardman on defense is retarded. I hope Richt tries to do something as stupid as this, but i don't think Richt is that dumb, he didn't do it with Mitchell, i don't see him doing it with Mecole.

Mecole is still in the process of figuring out which position he wants to play in college and in the NFL, i think he is still open to the idea of either, and he is still trying to find his way this summer and this fall before he truly decides what position he decides to pursue fully and dedicate himself to.

I hope that Pruitt and Richt keep on trying to sell him on defense, i think that is a major tactical error, i think Mecole is a special talent on offense and he may not have the prototypical 6'4 frame for a WR, but he is so quick, explosive and elusive in the open field plus he is pretty damn strong for his size and he has amazing hands. He is too good to not put the ball in his hands on offense....he is wasted on defense. Teams will not throw to his side much and he will only impact the game in a very indirect way. On offense he can inspire and electrify the team with his ability.

I wouldn't say that he has him by the balls but there's no doubt that a guy like Pruitt demands respect.

There's no denying that the guy has an eye for talent and knows how to develop his players. Look at the Bama DB's, it's almost as if they forgot how to play ever since Pruitt left. Saban has even praised Pruitt for the kind of coach that he is.

When Pruitt first signed with UGA he personally recruited a little known 3 star DB named Dominick Sanders, who at the time was committed to UCF I believe. Mr. Sanders came in and had a very impressive freshman season last year. There's also a Donte Jackson, a little known DB out of Louisiana who blew up last year. Pruitt was all over him before anybody. Jackson eventually signed with LSU.

Richt is not the kind of coach that will get you to sign and then flip the script on you and play you where he wants. I think all of that is pretty well documented.

I don't know about all the rest of this, but it is curiously true that Bama's DBs haven't looked like themselves lately.

They've missed too many practices because of meetings with probation officers...

Can I tell that joke considering our legal issues lately?

A strong argument can be made for just the opposite of this sentiment.
