'15 VA WDE Josh Sweat

Any time they use the word "nice" and "good" a lot, you know they weren't really into it. That or he's just really good at hiding his enthusiasm in an interview. I think we need some stars to align for this one. Maybe Beamer will retire?

According to TOS, he sounds that way after all visits. He keeps it close to the vest.

Yeah, Adam Friedman said Josh is real big on not tipping his hand on any of these interviews. I would expect his recruitment will be similar to Josh Malone's in that no one is going to get a lot out of him.

"We got there after a 7-hour drive and it was pretty nice," said the 6-foot-5, 236-pound Sweat. "It was one of the top campus and we did a tour and saw the stadium. I like the coaches and they made me feel really comfortable. I got to talk to a few players but I didn't really get to hang out with them very much. It was a really nice experience and I'm glad I visited.

[Completely unimportant observation alert] If he is talking about the trip from home to Knoxville then whoever was driving was hauling some serious ass.[/Completely unimportant observation alert]

five-star rising senior defensive end josh sweat of oscar smith high school in chesapeake, va., arrived on tennessee's campus thursday for his first visit with the vols, a source told 247sports.

The 6-foot-5, 237-pound sweat is ranked the nation's no. 2 overall prospect and no. 1 weakside defensive end in the 247sports composite for the 2015 class. He claims offers from more than 60 teams, including tennessee, florida state, georgia, ohio state, oregon, texas a&m, virginia tech and alabama.

The 247sports crystal ball points to virginia tech as the early favorite to land sweat, with the hokies getting 45 percent of the current predictions, florida state getting 40 percent, tennessee getting 10 percent and 5 percent going to ohio state.

It's 7 hours to Knoxville and 11 to Athens, GA.

Sweat was built to play in the SEC. He is the next big-time SEC DE. Btw Pruitt's defense is a 4-3....so to the poster that says Sweat is a LB at UGA, that is incorrect, they are moving back to a 4-3 base.

The good thing here is I'll take Butch vs Pruitt any day of the week. I think Pruitt is a bagman guy that has bought his way to the top of the coaching profession. The Sweat family doesn't strike me as the type of family that will sell out for a payoff. They are very pragmatic and low-key and i think his parents are drawn to HC's like Butch, Richt and Beamer..... I like our chances here.

Pruitt runs the 3-4, boss. Or at least he did at FSU last year.

So is his name pronounced Sweet or Swet? Swat would be even better for a DE. :p

I think its pronounced sweat, which is why it is spelled Sweat. The only tricky part you have to be careful on is that in the English language they capitalize the first letter of last names. So even though it is spelled Sweat, it is still pronounced sweat. Let me know if that's not a clear explanation.

Sweat is extremely hard to read as a recruit. Hard to get much out of him.

From what I've been told, albeit not much, UT coaches are optimistic with their chances with Sweat & feel like they are right up there with him. He likes GA as well, but the biggest threat at this point still seems to be the hometown Hokies. Very reserved recruit though.

It's been really difficult for any coaching staff or recruiting analyst to get a real good read on what Sweat is thinking or is going to do, but the one thing that apparently is extremely obvious with Josh Sweat is that he is and will be a stud. UT's coaches feel like he is one of those can't miss, sure fire, once every decade type talent that will be an All-American pass rusher at the next level. It might be beating the dead horse and not very well liked, but the Clowney comparisons keep rolling in for Sweat. And not just from message board posters, but SEC coaches.

Obviously UT fans should want Sweat on UT's roster. He is on another level. But if not, he is one of those rare talents that every football fan will want to watch play even if he isn't a Vol.

Interested to see what's going to happen. Just wanted to post that the hype and comparisons for Sweat aren't just the standard ESPN, Rivals hype train stuff, but also communicated and believed by big time college coaches. Some big-time praise. Though that was interesting.

Thanks for that, Dickhead. Even though it's capitalized, it's pronounced dickhead.
