From a poster on VQ.... TIFWIW

"My buddy from Texas talks to him & says he is "feeling Rocky Top." Also said we told him we are going all in on him. Said he thinks it is us, Baylor & Texas IF Mack stays. Also said if Bama offers "all bets are off."

First off, Bama already has Ricky Town committed. They are done at QB. Baylor already has their QB committed for 2015. It's us and Texas and I doubt Mack is there after this year. Please Butch... Pull this one off. You have me greedy lol

"It's going good and everything, but I'm still completely open to anything and everything. I'm kind of waiting to see how the rest of the season plays out. For example*Mack Brown*might lose his job and I am interested in Texas and I'm interested in a bunch of other schools, so I just have to see how it plays out."*

^Goes with the Texas part of that post

Even if Mack gets the boot in Austin, I think they will hire a great coach. $$ is no object there and they should have pick of the coaching pool when it happens. I would look for the longhorns to get a boost in recruiting when Mack is canned. JMO

I thought this guy wasn't playing too well?

I think you're referring to this from Fortenberry which I posted in QB Drew Lock's thread?

As for some others hinting at Stidham, he's not having the season most thought he would at quarterback. This is his first at that position.

I think the Vols like some guys out in California and a guy in Missouri right now.

Fortenberry wrote this to clear up confusion on Stidham because he's doing really well right this season, just other QB prospects are also doing really well...

I suppose that didn't come out too well looking back on it. He's not having a bad season by any means. What I meant was he's not the slam dunk, top prospect at quarterback for the Vols like some thought after his summer visit. He's having a good season and is still learning to play the quarterback position and some other guys have played better than expected.

He's a good player and a good athlete, just some others have become serious Vol targets as well. Hope that clears it up.

Stidham's stats so far this season...

"He's thrown for 1300 Yards 16 TDs 3 Int's, rushing 80 carries 510 yards and 6 TDs in 6 games with a 5-1 record"

I would think brown retaining his job would help us here. If they hire someone like Briles it would take stidham about two days to realize he'd be an incredible fit for that offense. Mark richt of the big 12

Are we still looking at this kid as are most likely QB... or is there a shot at Rosen, or someone else? Curious, seems QB will be our biggest concern in recruiting next year... Or should be.

Where does that put Stidham on your board? I see all the 247 guys seem to think he's a BU lock.
As of now, I think we're done. Briles perfers to have only three QBs in the system. If Lynch and President both sign he will have four (Russell and Johnson already on campus). It looks like 2014 top target R. Cunningham Jr will be an Oregon Duck.
