'15 TN TE Kyle Oliver (UT Signee 2/4/15)

VQ said that Butch confirmed that Scott, Hendrix, and Helms were no longer with the team.

Let's hope these TEs develop enough to not have to play Alex Ellis with the 1st team any more

Not sure what you mean by that. Ellis had 6 catches for 115 yards and a TD. Several of those were tough catches across the middle. I understand he is a walk-on, but he had some solid snaps and deserves some respect.

Then you have Helm who had 6 catches for like 30 yards, 0 TDs and ppl are freaking out. Pretty funny.

I was impressed with Ellis this past year. Was very surprised to learn he was a walk-on. I expected Helm to be what Wolf turned out to be. Funny how things end up happening.

You guys can be happy with walk ons who have severe limitations being starters, I'm not. Gives Great effort, cool. but if we had anyone at the position who had upside, he wouldn't see the field.

Guys have to step up or we'll be stuck being "content" with this type of player getting a lot of snaps

We were happy for now and this season. This is going to be a diminishing situation. I'm sure most of us feel as you do so don't fret. We have better players coming and on the roster.

Wolf has upside. Hell, he was better than Helm when healthy. Branisel has upside. Creamer is very athletic. Give it some time.

I'm not fretting, I responded to people who acted as if what I'm said was foolish and out of left field

I'm hoping Creamer has the tools. His measurables are pretty top notch, for the position.

He's like the Jacques Smith of TE. Hopefully, dem tools tho...

According to Vanderbilt's new 247 writer we are not effectively recruiting Oliver.

Kyle Oliver, we are told, is still very much on the table. We continue to hear from sources out in Murfreesboro that Tennessee is not really effectively recruiting him anymore and not looking to include him in the class. With the mass of UT transfers and talk of potential decommitments coming up as UT looks to recruit over some prospects, it would seem to make sense if Oliver is cut loose. We believe VU wouldn't have room at the moment, but we've been told something could develop in January as a potential OV could happen. VU really likes Oliver, but the only reason why there's a question is due to having 2 TE's committed and the thought that VU might not have enough room. Oliver though could fall into the category of "best available player", so a OV could happen and a potential push for a commitment again could happen as well. There's no question that Oliver in the class could also help solidify his best friend, Josh Smith.

Dylan Jackson officially decommitted from Tennessee today. Vanderbilt and Stanford were the talk 2 months ago when it was rumored he was going to decommit, now LSU has a buzz about them. We'll try once again to get an update on the situation.

Fortenberry said on VQ that Creamer has started to emerge somewhat at TE. Paul said he's bigger, faster, stronger, and more mature now.

Maybe with Creamer starting to put some things together now, they feel like they can drop Oliver and go all in on Devante Brooks for the '16 class.

Plus adding Eli as a walk-on won't hurt. Also Middleton may still be a TE option for the 2016 class as well.

Would make sense with Creamer redshirting.

Id like to keep Oliver if he can play a little bit, there are some kids in that Oakland/Murfreesboro pipeline that he might be able to help recruit.
Not that Jones and Jennings wouldnt help either

I have no problem with Ellis getting a lot of minutes. He's a gamer and has gotten better every game. Good blocker too.

The vandy writers are awful. Ain't nobody trying to play for Coach Mason and the rest of their MAC Conference Staff. Their class is absolute garbage. Just like last year. You can add up all their commits and theirs only a handful of SEC offers btw them all.
