'15 TN TE Kyle Oliver (UT Signee 2/4/15)

I have been watching the game and was a little disappointed that he didn't fight more for the underthrown ball that was intercepted. It kind of surprised me that he seemed to quit on the play. Did anyone else see that play?

Yes. You weren't the only one

I don't know why we would possibly sign a TE in this class - We still need DBs, LBs, Richmond, Phillips, Gibson and Tuttle

I'm among those that don't see the point in taking a TE, when we have more pressing needs in this class. Especially when it looks like the kid might be a marginal talent. When I watched that game he did not strike me as an SEC level player.

All IMO of course.

Let's see how season plays out but I agree that he looked very pedestrian in that game.

Tight ends that are as athletic as him can be changed into numerous different positions. DE, LB, and in some cases they have the frame to move to OT.

If is guy had a solid qb who could throw the ball, his stats would be nice. He's probably one of he most athletic TE in his class. He's going to add a different element. He will probably red shirt, but will be a solid Te/h-back for us

I don't doubt his athleticism, but I do doubt our need for him in this class.

I would much rather take 2 TE next class in Gabe Angel and Issac Nauta. That haul would include athleticism as well as two just overall more talented players.

He is being recruited to play H-Back

To be fair, if he had a QB that could throw the ball better, he'd have two TDs added to his sheet.

This kid is 6'5" and 230 lbs. Butch does have a history of taking kids like this and turning them into first round draft picks at offensive tackle. I trust CBJ's opinion.

We gotta spread the love. 5 TEs in three years is not a bad thing.

One game. Jeeeeeesus.

Are you surprised? You probably shouldn't be. They watch highlight reels and expect every play to be a home run. They don't realize Oakland is and was and will be a power team. Or that he recently changed positions, or that his QB is not that accurate. If his QB connected with him on the play in the 1st quarter he would be the next Jimmy Graham.
