Damn!

This is def 4 star material highlights. To be that big and shifty who can jump and collect the ball at it's highest peak is an uncommon skill set. I'm wondering why every sec school hasn't been all over him

He's never played TE before so his recruitment didn't start to blow up until he started camping this summer and played TE. I think a lot of schools wanted to see him camp more before they made their offer but he was being recruited heavy by a few big schools that hadn't pulled the trigger yet.

Also, he didn't really care about football and considered himself a basketball player until last year when he started to take it seriously.

Alright, so I've watched the highlight video. This kid can play. If he measures out to his listed size then it's going to be great for us. He is plenty athletic and he has great body control to turn for the ball and catch it at the peak of his jump.

Furthermore, I absolutely love that we have a commit at TE that was lined up outside in all of his highlight film.

A+++ Butch

Lined up outside because he played WR. This will be his first year at TE this coming year.

RS candidate anyway. Gives him a chance to add some weight/strength, learn some blocking techniques and develop into the stud TE Butch expects him to be. He will already be strong at route running and pass catching. Really good upside.

Oakland's Kyle Oliver commits to Vols

MURFREESBORO –*Kyle Oliver ended his recruitment Sunday night with one phone call.

His decision?

He wants to be the next brick for*Tennesseeand Vols coach Butch Jones.

"I was (at Tennessee on Saturday) for the Orange Carpet Day," said Oliver, who told Jones he was committing during a late-night conversation Sunday. "Coach Jones was fired up about (me committing)."

Oliver also had been considering Florida State, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Ohio State. Of those four, Kentucky and Ole Miss had offered a scholarship; the other two were recruiting him.

Oliver, a 6-foot-5, 230-pound athlete, is projected to be an H-back, a combination of tight end and wide out.

Oliver caught 31 passes for a team-high 505 yards with six touchdowns as a wide receiver in 2013 for the Patriots, who went 12-1.

Oliver, who has played the past two seasons at wide receiver, was moved to tight end during spring practice after picking up 15 pounds in the offseason. He still will play some as a wideout.

Commitments are nonbinding. Oliver cannot sign until Feb. 4.

But Oliver said he's not looking to go anywhere else.

"I'm done camping," Oliver said. "I just liked it a lot up there. Everything about it I liked."

He is the second commitment among Oakland's eight seniors with college football scholarship offers.

Teammate Jack Jones, a Mr. Football winner, also is a Tennessee commitment. Jones, an offensive lineman, committed during his sophomore year.

Love this pick up. Loved his tape. It takes little imagination to see how he will fit into Butch's scheme and how Butch plans to use the TE position to it's fullest degree within 2-3 years.

Still has lots of room to put on weight.

265lb 6'5" athletic guy who can run and catch......yes.

Hope he develops as a blocker.

One of the assistant football coaches I played for in college has since taken a coaching job at Oakland High. He tells me Oliver is the real deal. Unbelievably athletic for his size and is a special player.
