Thanks for your input. All 11 posts.I and all of my Volnation power...all 10 or so of my posts...CLOSE this thread for this kid and the ridiculous amount of people who can not see the light and continue to discuss one player who will never end up in Knoxville. Have a great night...THREAD CLOSED...MOVE ON!!!
Here's a post from SEC Rant from about a year and a half ago. Will tell you most of what you need to know:
Byron De'Vinner calls out Butch Jones & staff (Posted on 6/26/13 at 12:54 am)
For those who don't know, Byron De'Vinner is a tPOS handler from Tennessee but he specializes in the Memphis area. He also runs a 7 on 7 football camp and has a "charity" in which he begs for donations. He was questioned last year involving the recruitment of Will Redmond(Miss St) and has been rumored to be involved with many high profile Tennessee recruits.
He posted this on his Facebook today
quote:
Dear Butch Jones Tommy Thigpen and Martinez. I don't care if you tell recruits I'm not welcomed or I've been banned from UT. Let's air the laundry out. I have been cleared by the NCAA of any wrongdoing. Let's tell theae recruits the truth you fear me. This goes back to 2011 when NO Memphis kids wanted to go to UT and it's my fault. Yes I hate UT, but wouldn't tell a kid where to or not to go. The kids can see for themselves of your track record. Martinez has been run out of Georgia Oklahoma State and Auburn now you think he can win at UT NO! You should have kept Coach Dooley at least he didn't cheat and lie to the kids. So when you want to bash someone you might want to realize I have friends around the country that listen to me and no I have norhing good to say about that place in Knoxville. Look at how many Afro American kids have signed with UT that have been dismissed. All are not bad, but the culture in Knoxville isn't good for a Afro American ? with Jayson Swain and 3 others
GFW said there has been some contact recently. VQ mentioned the same thing shortly thereafter.
Here is my personal theory: Richmond really liked UT last year, as a bunch of his buddies were going here. Then sometime over the summer he started to learn about all the benefits he could receive by playing the game. Eventually committed to Ole Miss, took an OV to UT where some things went down, and we basically stopped recruiting him. However, I think its recently gotten real to him that he will have to actually sign with a school and spend the next 3-4 years there and so he's been trying to get back in with Butch Jones and co because this is where he wants to be in his heart. Whether he is able to mend the relationship in time remains to be seen.
*This is all complete conjecture. If anyone takes anything here as a statement of fact: shame on you.
