For those who don't know, Byron De'Vinner is a tPOS handler from Tennessee but he specializes in the Memphis area. He also runs a 7 on 7 football camp and has a "charity" in which he begs for donations. He was questioned last year involving the recruitment of Will Redmond(Miss St) and has been rumored to be involved with many high profile Tennessee recruits.

I have never understood the hate on Memphis, I used to live a couple hours away and would go there every other weekend. Always had a good time and never really felt in harms way. However, I still believe Knoxville is greater than Memphis for sure.

Okay, so according to "inside information" being disseminated here:

- DR's family is receiving some sort of compensation for making him go to Ole Miss

- De'Vinner is also receiving compensation for steering DR to Ole Miss

- DR came to Knoxville on an OV and did nothing but recruit other players to Ole Miss during his visit

- DR is now driving a Chevy Tahoe (or some similar SUV), which was definitely paid for by Ole Miss

- Many, if not most, of the current players on campus do not want DR on the team.

- DR has raped someone and then bragged about it via text message, which one of the insiders on here somehow managed to see

- All of this immoral and illegal activity is happening with full knowledge of people on VN, yet the NCAA and every major media outlet are completely in the dark about it.


In spite of all of these character issues, Coach Butch Jones still wants him. This, despite 1) Jones's heavy reliance on the team-as-family concept, and 2) repeated commitment to only target high character players. So, I can choose to believe anonymous people on an internet message board or two years of demonstrated actions by Jones and his staff.

very well could be, and if we discard the texts there are plenty of reasons to stay away. We have been constantly hearing rumors and talk from 'reputable' sources that there are some underlying i$$ue$ the general public doesn't know about. Seems like we are constantly hearing about something questionable and it seems the kid is becoming radioactive.

I will only speak for myself but it seems like there is enough smoke around this kid to the point that I don't want him because of that alone.

then there are the reports he was recruiting Newsome to Ole Miss while here, and then the coaches dropping his recruitment right after that visit. that last point can't be argued, the coaches dropped this kid after making him a priority, something happened, we on the outside are just guessing.
