'15 TN DE Kyle Phillips (UT commit 1/3/15)

Phillips would be a huge get. Taylor and Ford are both weak side rush ends. I like Butcher, but he doesn't have ideal size. Phillips is a prototypical SDE just like Barnett. He'd be the best DE in our class from a talent standpoint IMO.

DE Barnett
DT Big Mac
DT Tuttle
DE Maggitt
OLB JRM
MLB Kirkland
OLB Bates
CB Sutton
CB Martin
S TK Jr.
S McDowell

That looks pretty nasty to me.

isn't McDowell going to be a LB? he's pretty much been this class' JRM,excelling on ST his freshman year and getting experience, and ready to come out with a vengeance his Sophomore year...

Hope he's a Vol because we need to replace Hendrix. But honestly, I'd get much more enjoyment in him choosing the Vols and breaking up the package deal Ugo has been promising for weeks. I'd laugh.

We do need to replace those two tackles. Thinking h3ndrix was important is ridiculous. He's a little used transfer with potentiAl but that didn't mean crap.

I wonder if Phillips's mom has or had a problem with UT because of her job as the Athletic Director at Tenn State? Also she is a Vandy grad, so maybe didn't like Vandy being UT's punching bag. I still have moved my CB to UT with Chavis leaving and Les Miles bolting soon. Go Vols / Beat Iowa!

I imagine the Vandy connection probably is where the friction is. She probably doesn't want her son to play for the team that is consistently crushing her alma mater.

Ford looks good, great actually. OL at the UA practice are having trouble containing him and just because he's not rated highly like Phillips doesn't mean anything.

I honestly don't want to bash the kid but he's not the kind of kid you want on your team. Disrespectful to coaches, teammates, and a consistent whiner on the field. That being said, that could all change under Butch Jones.

I just don't want people getting upset if we lose him to someone else. We've got some great athletes on the DL and we'll be fine without him
