'15 TN DE Kyle Phillips (UT commit 1/3/15)

I agree with what is being said about these posters. However, it scares me when Hubbs states what he just did with such certainty. Sanddune may be right when he states Phillips may not even know what he is doing. I think it has a LSU feel but who knows for sure.

Guys forgive me for asking so many questions- is this info coming from a pretty respected poster? I appreciate you guys answering my many questions love to you all!

He is heavily involved in BA's football team and midstate football in general. His son plays for BA's middle school if I recall.

Thanks guys!! Hopefully Hubbs was erring on the side of conservative with his statement and of course Phillips did say LSU had a slight lead so his comments reflect that also- just want this player so bad I can't stand it lol!

I really want the coaches to nail this recruitment down, especially with the more than likely defection of Dewayne Hendrix (check thread in football forum for update on Hendrix).

I mean, besides "gut feeling" that's really all your post said.

So the fact that LSU has pretty much lead for Phillips commitment this entire time, and now Amadi is setting things up to possibly join Phillips at LSU as they are said to be a package deal. Jackson is already committed to LSU so there goes that one, and I'm kind of up in the air with Martin and hope he chooses Tennessee but Martin is the only one that gives me the gut feeling that he'll choose LSU.

Hubbs latest update falls right in line with how I feel.. We will finish a close second.

I hope that I am wrong, and am not guaranteeing anything just stating that signs point toward LSU atm.

Edit:after reading the update in Martin's thread he and Amadi both have their last official visits at LSU. Miles is a fantastic recruiter and at the moment their defense is in better shape than ours and have been more consistent over the years so while I think we get great players to fill these spots I just think LSU wins these refruiting battles.

You're about to make me head into the FF.... It had better be worth it!

It's just a follow up by Hubbs on Chris Low's comment that Hendrix may have a change of heart and stay with the Vols. I would have pulled the Hendrix thread in the recruiting forum, but it was locked last I checked.

It's all good. He's gone, I've moved on. Happens every year.

I think there is a lot of information being thrown out that may be some misinformation. I have no idea where these two end up. I'm not even sure they have their minds made up yet.

Exactly, its like I said in another thread, Tiny was planning on signing with Auburn the day before NSD. Long way to go

That does surprise me. I'm not sure what's most important to Phillips but if it was playing time, Tennessee has A LOT of competition at the end position, which isn't a bad thing

Either way he is going to have to bring it to play. You won't start in a Chavis defense unless you're the real deal especially with the recruiting base LSU has. Likewise UT is sealing in some elite prospects on the Dline and has one of the best Dline coaches in the business. I'd love to add Phillips and I think it's probably in his best interest to be at UT longterm BUT really the kid is going to land in a good situation at either school. That said competition is going to be fierce in either spot for him to start.

Maybe we get Walker instead. That guy is a legit pass rusher.
