'15 TN DE Kyle Phillips (UT commit 1/3/15)

One of my all-time favorite rants on social media came from Byron De'Vinner. Enjoy:

Dear Butch Jones Tommy Thigpen and Martinez. I don't care if you tell recruits I'm not welcomed or I've been banned from UT. Let's air the laundry out. I have been cleared by the NCAA of any wrongdoing. Let's tell theae recruits the truth you fear me. This goes back to 2011 when NO Memphis kids wanted to go to UT and it's my fault. Yes I hate UT, but wouldn't tell a kid where to or not to go. The kids can see for themselves of your track record. Martinez has been run out of Georgia Oklahoma State and Auburn now you think he can win at UT NO! You should have kept Coach Dooley at least he didn't cheat and lie to the kids. So when you want to bash someone you might want to realize I have friends around the country that listen to me and no I have norhing good to say about that place in Knoxville. Look at how many Afro American kids have signed with UT that have been dismissed. All are not bad, but the culture in Knoxville isn't good for a Afro American ? with Jayson Swain and 3 others

Martinez seams to be doing pretty well here :hi:. Afro Americans? WTF uses the term Afro Americans ???

Dear Devinner, this is me after reading your little Facebook rant. :snoring:

update on rivals where he talks ab his top 3.

Could someone w a subscription elaborate?

"He still wants to take more visits, but as of today he states it's down to Tennesse, Volunteer State Community College, and The Nashville Auto-Diesel College in no particular order. In the past 48 hours Vol State has added Skittles to their vending machines in the lunchroom, and some believe they now have moved into the lead for Phillips services."

I'm hearing University of Phoenix online classes while he is enrolled at Austin Peay on a fantasy football scholarship

LSU and Ole Miss still appear to be Tennessee’s primary competition for Phillips, and sources close to his recruitment believe the Vols have as good of a chance of landing him as any of the teams he’s still considering. Alabama also remains in the picture, and he’s hoping to visit the Crimson Tide this weekend, but they have some ground to make up at this point.
While the momentum in Phillips’ recruitment shifted a bit toward Ole Miss in early October and then toward LSU later in the month and into early November, the Vols now have put themselves in position to finish strong with Phillips by getting him on campus twice within the final four weekends before the start of the dead period. Tennessee has made it a priority over the past couple of months to save Phillips’ official visit to UT for the month of December, while Ole Miss and LSU both hosted him on official visits in October. Some close to Phillips believe that strategy ultimately might pay off for the Vols, considering that the momentum in his recruitment often has shifted with each visit he has taken.

It's also worth noting we get last visit, around Dec 13th. The last weekend before the NCAA mandated dead period.

Isn't he an EE too? If so, that timeline really favors us with needing to make a decision close to our visit.

Damn. I was afraid of that. Think VSCC has campus sites closer than Knoxville too. Oh well...NEXT.

That is so funny. Great sense of humor. One of my favorite posts.:):):)

For those of you who can read the Darrin Kirkland article on Rivals, there is a pretty good little nugget on Phillips that could suggest which way he is leaning. :D

"I was hanging with Jack Jones and unofficial (visitor) Kyle Phillips," Kirkland said. "We spent the night after the game together and were really talking a lot.

"Jack Jones really wants me to be a teammate and he is a great player on the o-line. Kyle Phillips was the same way. We were just talking how we could control things coming in together with him being on d-line and me being at linebacker."

That doesn't really say much to me. But I think it is common sense that we are trending REALLY well right now with the following

RB - Bryce Love
OL - Pat Allen
DL - Kyle Phillips
LB - Darin Kirkland
CB - Ugo Amadi and Justin Martin

I think we add those 6.

The following are all trending the other direction

RB - Rocky Reid
TE - Kyle Oliver
DL - Dylan Jackson
LB - Cecil Cherry
CB - Darrell Miller

This puzzle isn't too complicated right now.

fair trade offs imo. The two guys off that list I would really hate to see go are Jackson and Oliver.

I think both have big time upside.
