'15 TN DE Kyle Phillips (UT commit 1/3/15)

I believe they backed out of Ohio State's and Northwestern's games in Franklin's tenure alone.

That was smart. And that's my point. Vandy went bowling. The Freaking West End Hipster Commode Doors went bowling. Of course, we can't ignore that we sucked at football the last several years but we buy out one game each of the last three years and these seniors have the cumulative effect of one whole spring practice under their belt.

Interesting tidbit re: Butch Jones vs Oklahoma - in 2010, Jones first-year Bearcats team was a fumble away from beating OU with Big East talent. They narrowly lost, 31-29, after putting up 17 points in the 4th quarter. It was pretty much their version of UT vs UGA 2013.

Oklahoma is not some invincible juggernaut, ya'll.

I just don't think the talent on our lines is there. Keeping it close is gravy this year.

I'll expect to win in 2015.

Stoops is known for some asinine blunders. He's known for pooping at the wrong times.

So you think CBJ's Bearcat team in 2010 had more talent than CBJ's Volunteers team will have in 2014?

Pretty much the same coaching staff with upgrades at RB and WR coaching slots.

I cannot throw in the towel until I have at least seen this team play :)

(I never throw in the towel on the Vols btw)

I'm not getting my hopes up for OU because I think it'll be the 2nd most motivated game OU plays behind Texas. OU will be trying to,prove a point that the SEC isn't that great... But I'm still cautiously optimistic.

Remember the Florida game at the Swamp during Kiffin's lone season?...Urban's boys were jacked up to lay a whipping due to his offseason noise...they won,but not by the margin they desperately wanted... sometimes when a team desperately tries to make a point for their coach...they press too hard!!

And buy out Oklahoma like yesterday, no matter how cowardly we look right now or how adverse it is to scheduling someone else. Nobody will care in three months when the season is in full swing and especially when we're playing somewhere sunny and warm in January.

Horrible mistake to schedule Oklahoma and you can't convince me otherwise.

I would not play for a school that was afraid of competition. We built a program playing the likes of Notre Dame, UCLA, and others. Who cares if you can beat Akron, UTC, and Troy? This is one reason kids go to Bama, because they play one marque OOC game that will be a headliner on the networks.

He's known for having awfully good football teams too.

He lost me a lot of money and made us hear how much Boise State deserves to be in the title game as well. Stoops is similar to a Phil Fulmer with high talent and mediocre production. Lucky for him he's been in a top heavy conference where his big rivalry is against one other team for the majority of his tenure

lol at mediocre production... from Phil or Bob.

Stoops career win%: .804

Saban career win%: .743

Saban at Alabama: .831

Lucky for him he wins a crapload of football games.

Lol, At your meaningless stat. I never said he didn't win a lot of games, and even explained as to why in the body of my comment. For most of his tenure the Big 12 was OU and Texas and then a huge drop off. How many bowl games has OU lost in which they were heavily favored? How many times did a vastly inferior conference opponent knock OU off preventing them from winning the conference. I go off memory and that fact that I use to bet on some games, you're going off google and with a different debate nonetheless.
