'15 TN DE Kyle Phillips (UT commit 1/3/15)

I think we have a good shot for sure, it would be ideal though if we could get this kid in the fold soon. If not like it is sounding, it is just more extended energy our staff has to use on a kid when it could be used elsewhere. That is a big deal in recruiting.

Really hope we get this kid. We NEED DE's in a bad way and this kid is one of the best in the southeast. Really good athlete and would be a terror coming off the edge.

According to Rivals, Rivals250 DE Kyle Phillips has a top ten that includes Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Florida State, Florida, Georgia, Stanford, LSU and Ohio State are also in the top ten.

There are about 15 type SEC players in the state of TENNESSEE these days., if we can get the top 7 or 8 each year we will good shape, just a few years back there were only 4 or 5, build that fence.

"Kyle Phillips has released his top 1 and it is Tennessee". "There are 9 others in his next group hoping for a sniff".

Now that's the kind of posts I like to see from you, LV.

What's funny is I can post like 20 things like this and the next post where I mention #'s or if I think someone may not be a take, it's chaos. "There he goes again"! "Get the pitchforks and torches"! I can't help but laugh.

I definitely see your point, but you run the numbers thing into the ground. That is why people get upset. It is not about you questioning whether or not a certain recruit is a take at this point or not.

Agreed. So up your ratio to 100:1?

Kyle Phillips on his top 10 (from 247)...

Alabama: “They’ve been winning, and that’s really one of my goals in college, is to hopefully contend for a national championship, conference championship — things like that. That’s a big reason why I like them a lot.”

Auburn: “(They have) a really good team. They’re still young, so even if I go there, I won’t be put in a situation where a lot of young players have to play who’s not ready and things like that. They’re young now, so they’re going to be a little older when I get there. They’ve also been winning these past few years.”

Ole Miss: “They’re young, too. They’ll have a pretty good team coming these next few years. A lot of things go with the coaching environment and the players — how they’re, like, family-oriented. I like that a lot.”

Tennessee: “Kind of similar to Ole Miss, they’re going to have a new team this year. And, really, (I like) just the environment, mostly. That’s a big thing there.”

Ohio State: “I went on my visit (there) last June or July, and I really loved it. I went to their camp, actually, so I got to see how they coach and things like that, so that’s a big reason why I like them.”

LSU: “I like them a lot because they always win 10 or 11 games each year. They always have a good D-line, and that’s a place that I feel like could help me get to the next level. That’s why I like them a lot.”

Stanford: “Stanford’s always a top-five team, pretty much, these past few years. They’re a great academic school, so that’s a key factor why I like them.”

Georgia: “They were kind of a new offer. When I went down there for my visit, I loved the game-day atmosphere. I’m going to try to go back, actually, this summer and spend more time with the coaches and things like that, because on a game day you can’t really talk as much as you want. But they have a good program, too, so I’m focused on them, too.”

Florida State: “They just won the national championship, so they should have a pretty good team coming back next year, and they’ve been recruiting me pretty hard. And I’m going down there this summer, too, to visit.”

Florida: “I haven’t been there (yet), actually. But Florida was always my favorite team growing up. That was my favorite school growing up, so they’ll always be one of my teams. This summer, I’m planning on going (there).”
