'15 NM QB Zach Gentry

I guarantee a qb like Gibson won't redshirt anywhere he goes.. Especially if it's UT. I'm not sure where all this faith in our current qb situation is coming from.. That position lost us several games last season. I haven't seen an elite qb at UT in a long time.

It depends on where he goes. He will definitely redshirt if he goes somewhere like OSU. They have Jalin Marshall waiting in the wings to replace Miller and he has 3 or 4 years of eligibility left.

I just don't think he will go somewhere he doesn't feel very confident that he will start.

There isn't going to be any speculating on that one either. It ain't going to happen......if I bust my arse in the gym then her butt will be doing the same.

Youthful optimism...as you age there will be many things about your wife you value higher than her bottom.

Watch out for AU with Torrance.

With that being said, I hope Gentry gets invited to The Opening and Elite 11. I want to see how he measures up to Town and Rosen.

Last years e11 sucked. No pub at all and they mixed it in with the Opening

I like to see how kids compete with someone of equal skill level or maybe a little better skill level.

Nobody had ever heard of Sean White until the Opening. Kid goes out there and kills it and now he's playing SEC ball.

I would just like to hear what Dilfer and crew have to say about Gentry if he got invited. I think they'd be extremely impressed.

Oh I get your point I was just voicing my displeasure with the new system.

If I have my choice of Ferguson, Dobbs(both elite 11 guys) or Gentry, Gibson, or ANY QB in the 2015 class leading our Vols into the 2015 season I will take my chances with the (2) kids who have had 2 years in the program and have a HUGE advantage over any kid walking in the door. IMO people are always so quick to discount what you have and always think the next best thing is just a commitment away. If the coaches are not expected to develop the talent and make it better over time, why pay 3 million a year for a coach? Why have a coaching staff? Why not just hire a goon squad of recruiters and just recruit your next team every year? "Well we can take 25 this year, 22 of them will need to be starters on offense/defense". It just does not work that way.

Aka the Calipari way

You would take your chances with peterman?

I was talking about Ferguson and Dobbs of course. Would I take my chances with Peterman over a kid just walking in the door? I probably would. You may note that CBJ and company felt the same way going into 2013 with 2 elite 11 guys coming in. Nathan was #2 on the depth chart ahead of both of the new guys.

I don't get the Peterman hate on here. He got thrown into the swamp with next to no experience, playing in a new offense, and got hurt in the process. Lighten up on the kid. Had he played later in the season he probably would have been no worse than Dobbs. If they put him on the field at some point I would expect his performance to be much improved if he stays with the program.

There is going to be a 4 way fight for the job. Best man wins as determined by Butch.

I agree. Tough 1st game to go into.I'm not counting Peterman out just yet.If Worley doesn't perform well after the 1st game.Give Peterman a shot in game 2.If he isn't overly impressive by halftime, give Ferguson a look.Absolutely need to find who our best Qb is before the Georgia game.JMO

Well said. IF Nathan does not decide to transfer, I would not be surprised at all if going into the season the depth chart reads Worley, Peterman, Ferguson, Dobbs. Coaches felt that way going into 2013. 2014 could very well be the same.

So Worley gets 1 game and Peterman may get a 1/2 a game to light it up or to the bench they go? Interesting.

It could very well be that, but it could also not be the situation. The coaches tried everything they could not to burn Fergy or Dobbs redshirts last year, so that could factor into last years order.
