'15 NC RB Rocky Reid (Wake Forest commit)

Congratulations on using this board for what it is supposed to be used for.

I think he is rated correctly on both sites. I just don't think he is an sec-quality back as evidenced by the lack of his sec offers.

Manny Moseley didn't have the SEC offers you are touting as the measuring stick for an SEC quality player and he is pushing for a starting role opposite Cam Sutton. Is it possible that Butch has evaluated a lesser known recruit and feels that he is SEC quality and the rest of the SEC will catch up. Butch has been ahead of the curve on several under the radar recruits that blew up soon after. Just a thought.

IMO your scouting of recruits, much like your journalism, is squandering. That's just my opinion though. I'm not attacking you! Since it's just my opinion it's ok.

Overrated? Disagree.

Recruited over? Disagree.

The staff took Reid's commitment pretty early in the process. I really like what Rocky brings to the table. Kid is a grinder. He's a horse at the RB position. He'll be putting up similar numbers to what Hurd did in his Junior year. And Rocky plays in the top classification of NC.

I think he may even be an EE. He won't be asked to play right away. Could even Redshirt. Hurd, AK, Scott, and Paulk will most likely be in front of him.

Agree to disagree but I appreciate the meaningful dialogue.

Jones' best attribute is that he has great eyes, and he TRUSTS them. Coaching staffs have to trust their own evaluations.

If he's gotten faster, a few will come in.

So is it official?...do we get to keep him?

this westside clownmust have a son at al brown or something. hes more sec offers than u think and more will come. thats not hype, thats fact. as was his run vs Butler. u look at that run with vision and speed and if u dont see a 4 star then u are clueless

Yeah he was certainly being....something....must be careful here...we got your back griddie. Rocky gonna do work this year, keep us updated on his progress through his senior season if you will please.

Unless somebody has an agenda, there is no way they cannot see that RR is SEC quality. I wondered who he was in the game against Scott. I was watching Scott and hoping for his commitment. I kept seeing RR and wondering if he was on our radar. He was. Thankfully.

^This. I've been keeping my eye on Rocky for quite some time.

I think he will be a part of this team next year, but in football and recruiting you never know what can happen between now and then. This in no way means Rocky is not a great RB though. I think he is quite capable of being an SEC RB and don't need griddies post to tell me that.

I do appreciate griddies post, because they really just prove to me what I already see with my own eyes. Keep on with the updates griddie. :good!:

Back to my original point...Reid is overrated, despite Griddie's incredible hype machine, and likely to be recruited over so this all likely a moot point.

Stop tolling the kids thread. If u don't know how to analyze film, just admit it. Rocky is clearly a beast.

With the exception of you, I would say everyone in this thread agrees with griddie. Are you saying you are the only one capable of seeing talent? I'll take griddies incredible hype machine over your assumptions, because I see the same thing he does.

Right. So CBJ accepted his commitment knowing he would recruit over him. If you know anything about recruiting you know that a coach doesn't take the commitment of a kid that early in the cycle if they aren't sure they want him to be a part of the program. We've taken two backs this far, Kamara and Reid, and that should tell you all you need to know. Saying he is overrated is just your biased opinion.

Gawn somewhere with all that..

We had a top 5 class last year and our coaches are killing it in the recruiting process; I don't understand how someone like westside can sit at home and value his opinion more than our coaches, who are paid lots of money and who have years of experience. If your opinion is so great westside why don't your share your occupation. You must be some sort of recruiting analyst or high school coach or something. I'll hang up and listen..

If you talk about a kid being recruited over or dropped in his thread you are not a Vol fan and most likely a demon eunuch who eats parrot diarrhea for breakfast. Most likely.

I couldn't have said it better myself. :good!:

I'm a NC homer and I am by no means a talent scout. With that said I went to this HS when Jay Graham played. I saw pretty much all of his games. I've seen Rocky too and IMO Rocky>Jay. Jay may have been faster idk but he wasn't a guy with a ton of moves.
Rushed for 2,609 yards as a Vol from 1993-96 and ranks seventh on the Tennessee career rushing yards list
His 11 100-yard games in 1995 are the most in one season UT history, and his 14 career 100-yard games rank second in Tennessee history

Griddie,

I respect the insight and knowledge you bring to this board and how you stick up for N.C. players on a regular basis...

But it is hard to take your opinion seriously as you show little attempt at objectivity. You are clearly biased toward everything North Carolina.

Tone down the hyperbole. Reid is a decent player but he isn't the be all end all you think he is and I personally think we can upgrade over him.

Again, I appreciate your contributions to this board and this is certainly not an attempt to degrade your input but sometimes you go overboard.

You must be related to Tux.

People are always going to have different opinions, but lost of us are educated enough to back it up.. Or at least now cry about it when Butchna makes fun of you.. Or me.. Or whoever LOL.

It's a message board westside, don't let your emotions get the best of you. However, if you must act like a child that didn't get his way then by all means go cheer for Kentucky.
