'15 NC DT Shy Tuttle (UT commit 9/26/14)

I had a dream last night that I actually met Tuttle in person and he noticed that I was wearing a Tennessee shirt. He pointed it out and said that he was going to help us out. Weird I know but looks like he's all Vol folks.

Coaches evals matter more.

See Chris Donald, Kenny O'Neal, Patrick Willis

Lol, who said anything about coach evals?

Was simply pointing out the historical merits of the star system.

Go back and re-read the post, then try again.

For lord's sake, people will freak out over every little thing on here. Especially when it's something I have no control over. Get a grip people. :shakehead:

Two things.

(1) You do or at least can have control. I've heard that a Frontal Lobotamy is really effective. I've also seen the original Planet of the Apes.....which proves it is affective.

and

(B) You know the bolded will NEVER happen.

Is this the same Josh I hear call in on the radio all of the time?
I will hang up and listen..Go Vols

I know how you feel man. I too don't have any control over what I type out and then submit to posted on volnation for thousands of other people to see and react to. Oh wait...

Nationdom is almost always wrong, but he's actually not mistaken here.

The Star system has been shown over time to be a tremendous predictor of probability of success.

Doesn't mean 5 stars can't bust, doesn't mean 2 stars can't be great.

Just means that 5 stars are statistically much more likely to achieve success than a 2 or 3 star.

Stars definitely matter.

Minor point here. These two statements are not congruent. To say a statement like "stars definitely matter", one would need to provide evidence that there is a causal relationship between star ranking and success. Clearly no one is attempting to draw that distinction. A more appropriate conclusion would be like "There is a strong positive correlation between stars and performance which suggests that stars are a strong indicator for future performance.

But what confidence interval?

You just churched up what the guy said. If there is a correlation, it matters. Your conclusion is no more appropriate or empirically proven than the statement you decided to critique and ridicule.

I get your point. Probably could have done without the last sentence.

Think we're essentially saying the same thing though, that the Star system is a good indicator of "probability" of success.
