'15 NC DT Shy Tuttle (UT commit 9/26/14)

Nothing real new from the 247 VIP room...

"In fact, sources close to Tuttle’s recruitment have indicated that the Vols recently have started to feel a bit more optimistic about their chances with the five-star defensive tackle from Lexington, N.C., and UT appears to be the primary threat to longtime favorite North Carolina. Some close to the Tar Heels’ program believe North Carolina still is the team to beat, but Tennessee has some momentum with Tuttle, and some believe he could be ready to make his decision within the next few weeks."

I believe we are the team to beat. UNC is going thru their "scandal" or whatever you call it and I think Tuttle sees a program on the rise of which he wants to be a part of. I mean Mckenzie and Tuttle at DT with decent DE(idk who would play here) would cause for a great Dline

Excited to think about a senior Corey Vereen teeing off with Sophs Tuttle and McKenzie collapsing the pocket.

I would always rather go against a UNC for a players like this instead of places like Georgia or Auburn. SEC! SEC! SEC!

It's got to be a hard opportunity to pass for young'ns. Come be dominant and play in games that people are going to watch.

when tennessee was dominant 7-8 years ago, we owned the Carolina's... love seeing the staff make pipelines into these states again. tuttle would be huge for recognition in the state. GBO

An update or speculative?

The NCAA can not ignore former players going to the press and telling about the level of corruption at an institution. IF they do ignore it then they are just as corrupt.

But then again they did ignore the Yahoo story about the agents paying the Alabama football players a couple of seasons ago.

How can you expect players and coaches to be ethical when the NCAA and their institutions are unethical?

Tennessee's natural recruiting grounds should cover:

Tennessee
North Georgia
Virginia
North Carolina

If we can own that region of the South, we'll consistently put together great classes.

Obviously we can and should venture beyond those borders, but dominating that area would go a long way.

The NCAA is ran by a guy who tried to get the school he was an AD at to turn a blind eye to test scores during his stay at LSU. So, yeah the NCAA has no uniformity with its punishment. And it does play favorites. Nothing is guaranteed here.

Agreed.

Gotta say I agree anybody counting on a ncaa investigation to sway a recruit is up for disappointment.
