If that turns out to be the case...with those two wrecking the the center of the opposing OL's, our DE's just got a whole lot mo'better. :)

When QB's can't step up in the pocket, sack rates for DE's go way up. Would love for Sweat to be one of those, BTW.

I could play DE with those two in the middle taking up 3-4 blockers

All you need to know about this recruitment is that the volquest guys (who may be the most conservative sports journalists of all time) are saying UT has the momentum right now with UNC trying to keep up.

Now fortenberry stressed it isn't over yet but he always does that. last year when everyone and their mother knew darrell scott was coming to tn, the volquest guys were the only saying south carolina was still in it...

its almost like they go out of thier way to cast doubt. Thats the one thing I hate about volquest.

I think VQ tries to not completely spoil the recruit's chance to keep his decision a surprise (as much as possible). I like VQ because unlike some school's writers (*cough* auburn *cough*) they aren't completely biased about where UT stands with a recruit. They play it safe but they won't sugarcoat for better or worse.

I think they do it for 2 reasons:

1) When they say something is solid - you know you can take it to the bank

2) Respect the kid and their day to announce

"In fact, sources close to Tuttle’s recruitment have indicated that the Vols recently have started to feel a bit more optimistic about their chances with the five-star defensive tackle from Lexington, N.C., and UT appears to be the primary threat to longtime favorite North Carolina. Some close to the Tar Heels’ program believe North Carolina still is the team to beat, but Tennessee has some momentum with Tuttle, and some believe he could be ready to make his decision within the next few weeks."

I like it. This is starting to play out like Scott's recruitment where the team originally in the lead felt good until he committed while the VQ and 247 guys felt good about where we are.

Certainly has that feel. Plus, UT has more potential as a program than either Carolina.

Seriously, this is a good time to be recruiting against UNC. Their biggest argument in the past when recruiting against us has been academics but their integrity is shot right now.
