'15 MD OT Pat Allen

I think we are about to start trimming the fat. I just looked at our commitment list, and I came up with 5 names that I think we will see do one of 3 things...look elsewhere, be asked to greyshirt, or take a blueshirt. Also, I think one of those 5 will be asked to be a preferred walk-on. That gets us to 22 actual signees, which leaves room for Allen, Love, and one of S. Jones/Newsome/Sapp/St. Louis/best available. JMO of course.

Watch the official visits is a good way to see potential blueshirts....Stewart no longer being an EE tells me he is one as he hasn't done an official either. Bruce is another local kid that can do it. Guys with limited options that will do anything to put in the Orange

Franklin High linemen Patrick Allen became the first linemen chosen as offensive Player of the Year on the Consensus All-State team Tuesday.
"I was like 'for real,'" said Allen, who found out via Twitter. "Hard work does pay off. I never thought this would happen."

Allen, a 6-foot-5, 285-pound left tackle who's committed to the University of Georgia, helped the Baltimore County school (13-1) to a second straight Class 3A state championship. The Indians scored more than 500 points last season, including a run of 35 straight (was down 21-0) in the title game against Montgomery County's Damascus.

To further divert from the thread, and since Coach Lawson was mentioned in a prior post...I could not believe how ripped Medley has become in his before/after picture.

Back to Patrick Allen

There is no doubt Coach Lawson is doing great work. Can you imagine what kind of influence he would have on Pat Allen?

Absolutely. Those are 2 of the 5 names that I came up with.

What a change of fortune from past years. Got so many great players wanting to play for the Orange, the coaches will have to scramble to shoe horn in all the kids we want to take. #BUTCH JONES IS THE MAN

Rivals is now predicting Pat Allen to Tennessee:

"Analysis: Allen was committed to Georgia until recently. And while he says the Bulldogs are still in the running, the only real players in his announcement will be Tennessee and, to a lesser extent, Oklahoma. There's a lot of buzz around the Volunteers here and Allen is expected to validate that buzz on Sunday.

Prediction: Tennessee"

Hope they are right. GBO!

Saw some 1 on 1's at the Semper-Fi bowl. Pat looked pretty good. He went up against Darrell Taylor. Taylor got the first step on him, but Pat recovered quickly. Rep was pretty even. Pat only was beaten once or twice, but mostly dominated. He and Mike Horton stood out. Marquell Harrell looked good as well. Taylor is incredibly fast off the line, he won every rep but Allen.
