'15 LB FL Cecil Cherry (former Vol commit)

I get everybody saying they like Kirkland because it seems like we've got a shot there and I'm no expert at all, but Kirkland doesn't look like an upgrade to me and I wasn't the biggest Cherry fan.

Neither looks as good as Bryant's film, imo.

I'll take either one. Cherry is ranked 20th and Kirkland is ranked 7th according to espn scout. I just want the one that wants to be a VOL! I sure hope that someone doesn't get to be on the UT dream team because of petty reasons. You'll live with that one for the rest of your life.

The staff really has not recruited a lot at linebacker this cycle. I can only think of Cherry, Kirkland, Sapp, and Austin Smith as guys committed or being pursued. Other than them who else? Makes me also wonder about Sapps mysterious recruitment. Maybe the staff isn't really pushing. I believe it has to be the young guys on the roster showing promise; also allows cushion for the coaches to go after greater positions of need.

Y'all are crazy. First of all, Cecil "The Diesel" Cherry is a straight BEAST and will do big things at the next level. Secondly, the kid is all VOL!

This is what I thought until his dream school came calling. With all things being equal one would go after his dream.

Dalton regressed or got recruited over. Junior stats are pedestrian.
"JUNIOR (2014)
Saw action on defense and special teams in eight of the first 10 games (not UCLA or Oklahoma) with one start (Iowa State) ... recorded one tackle against BYU ... did not see action against UCLA ... recorded two tackles against Kansas ... had two tackles and a quarterback pressure against Baylor ... made a season-high four stops against Iowa State in his first start of the year ... had three stops and a quarterback pressure against West Virginia."

Funny how when I posed the question "who would trade Cherry for Kirkland" so many members were behind them, and my main issue has always been his overall speed. That's great that he hits hard when people are running at him, but if he's too slow to cover his hard hitting is negated.

Kirkland is more ready to contribute now. I'd take that trade in a heartbeat and Im willing to bet most of those who wouldnt a few days ago now willing to reconsider.

I agree with everything and yet I still hope we don't lose him. I don't understand how things have changed so fast. Words have been exchanged that we don't know about.

What's his 40?

Hold on..............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................he is still running it.

The hate here is a little overboard for someone who may still end up a Vol. Let's wait till he decommitts to talk about how much he sucks.

With how much SEC is changing speed is critical at LB. I think the staff is loving what they are seeing from the JRM S to LB move as well as reports that Cortez is making the same impressions on them with his move. So they may be changing their thinking in terms of the type of LB they prefer.

Exactly.

Even if he flips, that's his choice. I wish him nothing but the best. If he does it now, I would respect him more than one who waits until February.

If he flips I hope he sucks like Santos.
