It's got to be a MLB's dream to come in and play with 2 5 star DTs. Have two beasts in front of you to keep the linemen off you and allow you to run around and make plays. Can't ask for much more. Not to mention some sick DEs as well. This defense is going to be so fun to watch in a couple of years when this class has a little time to develop under their belt.

I believe this to be the future of our defense.

Big bodies on the dline to allow our backers to run free and on obvious passing downs we put 4 DE's on the field and play a 7 man zone behind it much like the New Yorks used to do.

"doesnt talk about it he shows you" is a jab at Jones.... not by Cherry but sounds like something Strong or others said to him on his visit and he repeated.

I'm not sure how that's a jab at Jones. Just seems like that's his opinion on Strong to me. I don't think he's saying he thinks Jones is all talk or something or he doesn't feel the same way about Butch. We don't even know exactly what he's referring to anyway. I don't know...jmo.

i find it strange that CC went from one of the most vocal proponents for TN and adamant he couldnt wait to do this and that the other at TN? annnnnd now hes changing his mind. Come on man. whats happened here?

And if you don't get what he shows you? He shows you the door. Cecil might want to take a gander at some of those 15+ players kicked off the team...Strong grandstanded a little this year.

I'm not sure how much more Butch could do to display the opportunity Tennessee presents an incoming freshman defensive player than he already has. He talks about it, while showing it with a plethora of underclassmen in the two deep.

This was nothing more than a compliment for Strong.

i'm not saying it was his idea. but if you look carefully at what a recruit says after his visit you can tell if the coaches got into his head or not. i don't know why else he would say that and Jones is clearly the guy to beat for Texas to recruit Cherry.

not to add fuel to the fire but what sticks out to me is vonn bell's comments shortly after committing to OSU. he said something like he wanted to win a championship..... well thats because Urbie told him thats what they'd do and either said TN was too far from a championship or let Vonn draw his own conclusions.

hopefully this won't flip him like Urbie did Vonn but it's a clever way for Strong to get into his head and make him question Coach Jones when he's saying "Cecil come be another brick in the foundation, come be a part of tennessee's rise to the top!" because then all Cherry is thinking is man Strong is right...this guy IS all talk.

It was just an observation that I thought was interesting. I mean I would say Strong didn't get into his head and convince him of that.... but when he says "Coach Strong spoke the truth" right before it I think he probably is at least questioning his commitment to a coach.

BUT maybe you are right and i just see that in those comments because i think Jones is a little on the corny side---not that I don't fully support him.

i dont disagree. Strong has obviously let being a big fish in a little pond go to his head. shows you he can win at louisville. great.

yeah i have heard that too. most people don't think hes a good fit there. doesnt have all the Texas donors bought in.

texas fans didn't think mack brown could recruit and looks like his worst classes weren't outside the top 20. i guess with all the in-state talent and texas history they expect more. not saying vol fans don't feel the same way but i think thats because if you're 20th in the nation you're in the bottom 1/3 SEC.
