'15 LB FL Cecil Cherry (former Vol commit)

#Vols 2015 commit @cecil_cherry3 put up the numbers tonight! He rushed for over 100 yards, had 2 total TD's, 10 tackles, 2 FF, and an INT.

I wonder if one of the TDs was scored on the INT? I saw he returned it 40+ yards.

Cherry is scary. Can't wait til he is demolishing rbs and qbs for the Big Orange in the SEC. I've never seen such nastiness and pure aggressiveness on a consistent basis. Dude is eating running backs for lunch. Ugghhh...Defense is gonna be ruthless pretty soon!!! GBO

He is an absolute head hunter. Guy may be the hardest hitting LB since Al Wilson. I cannot wait for the diesel to put on the orange and start trucking people.

Agreed! Honestly probably the most anticipated recruit for me since I started following recruiting in '08. His hiighlights are a freak show!
An all out head buster!!! A.K.A "The Career Ender"!!!
I can see it coming! :)

What's the point of bringing in these great recruiting classes if you keep having to insert freshman into positions of massive importance? A lot more to playing MLB than just "truckin" people.

Dude, really? After you get 2 or 3 of "these classes" you hope to not have to start freshmen.
smh

My point is he's good enough to start. Doesn't matter who's a senior, junior, sophomore or freshman, you play the best. You gonna hold a kid back from a starting position because he's "just a freshman"? I'm not saying we don't have any other good LB's and won't have good depth, I just believe this kid will take over and it's gonna be hard to keep him off the field.

It's not that easy. There is a lot of responsibility that comes with starting at Mike, which makes it extremely hard for a true FR to start and be effective.

Cecil Cherrrrrryyy, yo he's scary...

As good as Cherry is going forward, hes got a lot of work to do technique wise. He also needs to work on his lateral quickness and playing in space.

Victory Christian senior linebacker Cecil Cherry intercepts a Saint Edwards pass and returns it 45 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter Friday during the Storm's win at Victory Field at Southeastern University.

Cherry was also a major force on offense, rushing for 122 yards on 11 carries. He also had a second touchdown in the first quarter called back because of a penalty flag.

"I was just trying to put points on the board and help my team win and be a team player and at the same time be leader and help lead this team to a state championship," Cherry said. "Big-time players have to make big-time plays at big-time moments, and I have to do that for my team both on and off the field."

He's not that good.

I know I will get flamed but I don't think he ever starts at UT. I also would not be surprised if he is this years Kevin Mouhon.
