'15 LB FL Cecil Cherry (former Vol commit)

Look at Cecil's Instagram its all UT. Some people just want to find a negative spin so they can have something else to worry about.
This kid is a Vol through and through.

I agree with this. I'm in wait and see mode. Not sure why he asked to take it down, but IMO everything is fine for now

It's bc those are player gloves and he is not supposed to have them. It's a recruiting violation, not sure how serious but it's a violation. That's why he asked to have it taken down.

Finally a sensible answer. Although I feel like Adidas could make some serious dough if they sold them retail.

They are they grey ones that spell out Vols when they are held out beside one another. As soon as Woody Womack put it up he freaked out and asked him to take it down and call him ASAP.

We see team gloves every camp for every team. It's no big deal

But these are the smokey gray gloves that were only given to players to wear in the Georgia game and never released to the public. It's a recruiting violation (albeit and minor and silly one) for him to have them. Whether anything could come of the picture being tweeted out or not doesn't really matter, but it's easily the most reasonable reason for him wanting the picture taken down.

I'm not sure if I buy all of that. I've seen a million pictures of recruits with those gloves. Just last week the Dequon Miller kid who's a basketball recruit had a picture wearing them. It happens all the time.

I can see how it would be a potential violation for CC to be given those gloves by a current player, or given anything for that matter, but it's not a violation for him to be wearing them in a picture. Same thing for uniforms.

I was given gloves by peerless and Nash when i was like 12... No violations.

All of those pics are with the players on a visit in the locker room. This may be different since he was off campus. Silly I know.

Can't believe it took someone this long to explain the reasoning. If he's asking to take the pic down it's because the gloves might be a violation- at worst UT will have to report a minor violation to the board or something like that. End of story.

Cecil don't like anyone questioning his commitment. Be ready.

Were the pics taken on campus? That is an important distinction.

NCAA to UT: "Why does Mr. Cherry have those player only gloves"?

UT to NCAA: "We believe he stole them from the locker room while on a visit to our campus".

NCAA to UT: "Will you be pressing charges for theft"?

UT to NCAA: "No, he is a legacy". :zeitung_lesen:

NCAA to UT: "Ummm, alright".

Case Closed.

TIFWIW.

Cecil to Ray: "Why don't you take off those dang shades and look me in the eye, chump".

The picture was at some sort of showcase so he was not on UT campus. All players put the stuff on for pictures but they have to take it off and leave it on campus. I'm sure many of them get souvenirs all the time such as gloves, but I'm sure most items can be bought by the public. The smokey gray gloves were only used twice and were not made available for purchase. It's a violation just not a huge one.

Report from IMG 7 on 7 National Championship...

"•Not an environment where Tennessee four-star linebacker commit Cecil Cherry would shine, as the Frostproof (Fla.) High talent prefers to do his work in pads, the future Vol did make a few plays as a mobile linebacker that also grabbed himself a pick six."
