'15 JUCO WR Camion Patrick

I've seen this kid play several times last season in football and some in basketball this season and a few things stand out:

1. First off, he is very gifted athletically. He clearly has the size and speed to play D1 football. He may not be the fastest WR out there but he is plenty fast enough. You should see this guy jump on the basketball court; impressive.

2. He is not aggressive enough. I know his youtube highlights may not show that but then again why would it. When he plays DB he shies away from contact. At WR, he dropped too many passes on routes over the middle in traffic. On the basketball court he doesn't drive to the basket much. A guy with his size and quickness should be driving by a lot of the competition he plays against.

3. His body language is discouraging after a negative play or bad series. This one is probably being too picky but I saw it happen enough where it stood out.

If he can fix #2 and #3 he could be a special player.

Would you say he is similar to Scotty Hopson on points 2 & 3? That was the first thought that came to mind.

Dont think that is the comparison I would make. He can jump really high. He doesn't have the ability to change directions in the air as it seems DRose does. All I am saying is the kid can get up. My brother coaches him, it is not hearsay.

Patrick can obviously get up there. His head was at the rim. I only made the comparison bc they are both 6 ft 2 I believe.

You agree with Orange Alert on his assessment?

sometimes. I don't think it is nearly is bad as Hopson. He does get down on himself, but usually doesn't let it linger. I can't say for sure about in football. It was hard to tell if he was sulking or sucking wind sometimes. He stayed kinda beat up and was never really in great cardiovascular condition.

He's a beast. Da'Rick JR. He's really physical off the line and seeks out contact.

Rogers was a top 10 recruit, this kid isn't anything close. Let's get realistic guys, he is a 3 star. Hope the best for this kid but the hype he is receiving doesn't equate to his offer list.

As far as the hype im happy to see a knoxville area kid ppl are happy to be getting instead of constantly bashing and asking why dooley is taking a reach on a local boy.
If he goes camping he will be a four star. Kid is a beast and is extremely limited by his competition around here. Hard to get much notice at lc and clinton. And if u only base your evaluation on his offer list then i guess it will stay the same with him being an early commit.

Barton Simmons just got done watching Patrick play basketball, he said Patrick is explosive & has a great frame for a WR.

Of course he isn't Darick Rogers, but he is 3 points away from a 4 star on 247 and Rivals hasn't evaluated him yet. He could very well end up being a 4 star. As for offer lists, what schools has he visited or camped at? Im sure most coaches know he is as solid as you can get, players who commit early usually don't get as many offers. Trent Taylor is a perfect example.

Agreed Ertel!

He should be a 4-star already, despite the Alabama offer today.

Watch his film...I know the competition isn't great but there is no way that guy isn't a 4-star WR prospect. It's rare to find WR's anywhere with the combination of size, athleticism and strength that he has.

I said early on when I listed my Top 10 in Tennessee that he was a 4-star kid for sure and a Top 6-7 guy in the state.
