'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

I'm snooping! :loco: and this is the only post that I will respond to.

AK did EXACTLY!!! what I told him to do, and that was to keep his mouth closed.
PS: After signing I'm going to flip the script and give y'all a tid-bit of somethings that has pushed me off the boards, other than y'all just being retarded and super negative.

MZTERRY, I do understand how frustrating all the negativity can be as a Vol fan. I don't understand it, and I don't wanna hear from people all the crap about how downtrodden the program has been over the last 5 years. That's no reason to be so negative all the time. I want us to be winning big too, but how does that make it OK to talk down to and bad mouth teenagers that are making one of the MOST IMPORTANT decisions of their lives??

The negative attitudes are my biggest peeve on this site. I suspect that those posters are like that in all aspects of their lives, not just on a football forum. I work with people like that and I wonder how they even get through life with such a poor attitude. How can you go through life being a miserable person all the time?

Anyway, with that said, I hope you always realize that it is the vocal minority of fans the cause these problems and the larger percentage of fans and posters on this board are here because they love the Vols and want what's best for the program. I hate that the negativity is what always stands out.

But..... never forget that there are many fine folk on here who you like and always have positive things to say too. Good luck to you and the Croomster. I hope and believe he will be making big plays all year.

And tell AK and all the other recruits that you come into contact with that some of us understand how important a decision it is for them and don't let our ORANGE tinted glasses make us blind to that fact. As much as we would love to have all the talent, UT just isn't for everybody and that should be respected.

ONE MORE THING..... All of you saying AK will ride the pine at UGA or UA....... IMO you are wrong and AK is gonna ball out wherever he goes. May not be 1000 yds his freshman year but he will see the field and make some plays. You can dog him all you want for not choosing UT and say he won't see the field (which is senseless and pointless and how in the world could you even be that all-knowing) but none of you could carry his jock.

Later MZ T.

JMO but I don't think there has been enough contact between them to believe there is even a remote possibility that Kamara signs his loi for Tennessee.

I think after getting a look at Gurley and Marshall he'll know for sure his PT will be limited at best barring injury. I think we are very much in it for him.

Makes me even more anxious! Posters like yourself is what keeps me interested. I want to hear from folks on the front lines what goes on....

I hope the negavols aren't the majority here, but I'm not sure what the count is.

She used an orange font for the bit about Kamara. That means he's a Vol!!!

(Am I doing it right?)

ok, this is the last thing I will say about this.....

All of you who have bad mouthed or talked down to Alvin should be ashamed of yourselves. He has gone about this process 100% the right way. Has ANYONE seen him on twitter or any messages boards talking smack or degrading any university or person? No, because he hasn't and it's pathetic to attack a kid who is doing things the right way just because you don't THINK he will choose your university.

Can I get an Amen from the choir...:good!:

Exactly. Gurshall will start until they leave.. and they were just freshman this past season. that means the other 4 or 5 backs have to share the (maybe 5 or 6) carries a game they MIGHT get a game

I don't think Kamara will be here, that said I wish him the best. I do think he is the best back in this class, by far. Dude has game. I hope like hell he pulls a surprise on NSD but I don't see it. I think Mz. T might be getting ready to drop a few bombs on some folk. The always negative comments, tweeting high school kids, bashing them for not picking UT etc. but none the less good luck to Alvin.

Say that is true (and I'm not 100 percent convinced Marshall could hold off Kamara) Even if it is true, one or both will be gone to the NFL in 2 years. AK gets a few (or several) touches in those two years, takes over the starting role the following year, has 1400 yards and 15 TDs, is a first round NFL pick with a lot of tread left on his tires. Doesn't sound too bad does it??

I am ALL for him coming to UT. He is my favorite back of this class. And he WILL be successful if he comes here and he will make it to the NFL. I have faith that Coach bUTch is gonna get it turned around in a hurry. So I believe UT is as good or better choice as any he could possibly make, but in the end, he has to make the decision for his future that he thinks is best for HIM. I can't fault him for that and I wish him luck wherever he goes.

Just wondering where all this optimist regarding AK has come from?

I thought last reports were that he was down to UGA and UA and would even consider playing WR for UA?

im not saying i think hes coming to UT or thats its the best decision for him. just saying i think the kid should go somewhere where hes going to be able to play more than 1 year of football. arent they taking like 3 other back with him?

I don't think Kamara will be in Orange. That said I think he stays at home. Close to his family and friends. Sometimes that's more important than where you can get the most PT. just my opinion.

I know this whole thread has gone good and positive for us, but the fact is Alvin was quoted saying his top two were Bama and UGA. I like the kid and wish him the best. i even watched his state championship game on local TV. I'm hoping he chooses Tennessee, but that would be a hell of a smokescreen

Good luck wherever you choose Alvin, and thanks for all the info MzT, even though I've never really seen a lot of your posts, I've heard through the board as you are what I would consider a "legend" or a really popular person around here.

Also I do like how Alvin handled himself. It reminds me of how Carl Lawson is handling himself. Very respectable.

If there is any new info I'm missing someone feel free to fill me in.

I understand what you're saying. I'm just not sure he wouldn't beat out Marshall. Even if he didn't I think he would still get some playing time. Who's to say that isn't the scenario that he wants? Kids want different things and maybe he thinks that is the best path for his future?

If it's me, I bleed orange so it would be a no brainer, esp if I could be the feature back. But AK isn't me and my priorities or your priorities may not be the same as his.

:good!:

I think there is a bit of a difference though, in that Ingram, TR, and Yeldon were not recruited in years when UA brought in three other highly rated runningbacks.

Also, isn't Kamara being recruited by Bama to play primarily in the slot?

It seems odd to me that a kid would go to a school with one absolute stud (who is likely going to be the starter next year) already on the roster, a big time back up (assuming Hart pans out), and three other highly touted runningbacks committed, if in fact he wants to play RB.

I wasn't complaining when we had Lewis, Bryson, Stephens and Henry on the same team. We kept them happy and always had two really good backs up until Poole's junior year. I would love to have Kamara but playing time can be found at a bunch of places. I truly feel the energy on this staff and effort will translate to the team and we will have a decent season.. There are talented players on our team and only eleven play at a time.

There's probably not a Vol fan on this site who I wouldn't enjoy talking Vol football with over a beer (or whatever). Having said that, I worry about the damage being done by some of the posts. I've found I do better with my wife when I tell her how pretty she looks and how lucky I am to have her. She's like most people. I wonder what would happen if for 30 days we only said nice things about the people we want to attract to UT?

Can't really compare Ingram and Richardson seeing that was before and during Saban's rise at Bama. Yeldon saw time because him and Lacy were the only 2 legitimate options which is why Bama is going nutty at the RB position. Kamara may see some time but it won't be in the next 2 years. Unless he gets 100% behind Bama's PED program.

Just looking for clarification not an arguement. Can you please explain the bolded part. Ingram was only a freshman in 2008 when UA went 12-2, but he was a sophmore and Richardson was a freshman in 2009 when UA won its 1st title under Saban.
