'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

Hey mzterry how old is alvin kamara? Is he 16 or 17? after what i heard from guys who saw alvin yesterday there is no way he isn't an every down back. he is really something.

No offense to AK, but if he makes a decision based on what a few random Internet posters say about him, he's not so bright. I like to think he's smarter than that, but who knows.

What is that? Really? Why did you even post that? You were doing good until you had to put the spin on it...

:clapping:..... Hello......

Shoulda been.... Alvin is smart enough to know that Vol Nation represents about .0000001% of the UT fan base and wouldn't let a few guys who probably have never even played football sway his desire to go to Tennessee. ???

I just find it interesting to think that a recruit wouldn't care that the fanbase that they will be playing to entertain doesn't have a bearing on their decision to attend a school. Honestly, being a football player for a bunch of fans that will constantly spew vitriol about me would be a turn off.

Now, it shouldn't be the only factor, or even a major one, but you have to be real that you would rather play ball in a town where the fans support you - even in a loss - rather than a place where every time you make a mistake you become a pariah.

This. Nobody wants to go where they'll be thrown under the bus.

After seeing gurley and Marshall, there is no way I would sign with uga in 2013 if I am a runningback, but that's just me

No kidding... Unless u wanted to maybe play a few downs at receiver and clean up time... Special teams I guess..

He's a real every down back. He's already 200lbs with a thick lower body. He's a fantastic get for any team that gets him.

So did the Henry commit solidify AK to UGA or help UT or Oregon or someone else into the top 2?

Imo hes in a sticky spot. At UGA he red shirts and backs up marshel once gurley goes pro after 3 years. then starts RS Jr and beyound. And theres a great chance he could get over recruited there. Bama is the same thing only worse. Oregon is to far. that leaves: us and maby FSU, Auburn, SC idk. I think hes a good back that is in a pickel. cause OCI says green and turman are all but locked up.

Are you serious? This kid isn't getting recruited over! Have you watched him play any?

Or you see a staff that is not afraid to play you as a true Freshman. Anything can happen on the field on any play.

AK seems like a very smart kid. I think he's looking for the right fit. He has said it before, competition is everywhere.

I know the counter arguments. I stand by my statement. :hi:

Also, there is a difference between competition, and possibly the best two runningbacks in the conference being one year ahead of you

We'll see because being the No.3 at UGA is what he'll be here starting out.

Lane, Neal, maybe D.Green(hopefully), and Kamara.

Senior Neal and Junior Lane won't go down the depth chart easy.

But I do agree Gurley and Marshall will be hard to steal carries from.

He'd be the #2 here when Neal leaves, IMO, if we get Green. By their sophomore year, AK and DG would be 1/2. I guess it comes down to whether waiting 1 or 2 years to be getting a lot of snaps is important. If he's ok waiting, I think he goes to UGA. TG/KM are good enough that their knowledge of the offense and experience means AK won't be passing them on the depth chart, and that's no knock on him. They're all similar, so it's not like he has the different style going for him either.

Marlin Lane is no slouch at all. A 4th year Lane is a really good player if he continues to progress. You guys act like he's going to just lay down for these young boys.
