'15 IN LB Darrin Kirkland Jr (UT Commit 12/15/14)

Could be. I am going with 20 now as it is right in the middle of CBJs 18-22 range. Taking 20 means we lose 8 current Vols off the roster.

Seriously though, I'm thinking we lose 8-10 current players total. I really think 20-22 will be the final number. I wouldn't count out over signing one or two due to academic casualties and/or grey shirts.

I think they'll get around 25 when all is said and done. General attrition will be higher than normal again simply because the upperclassmen in general were not only not recruited by Butch but a large amount of them simply arent talented enough to play at a high SEC level. It would be one thing if Butch had inherited a loaded roster, he inherited the complete opposite. Even some of the kids he signed in his first class were probably stretches because of the short amount of time he had to work with.

Couldn't agree more...there was a reason it's gonna take a few classes to get us back on track.

They will run you out of the FF talking like that. We've got talent on the bench. Butch just didn't put them on the field last year.

LOL Those guys are clueless over there. They completely ignore recruiting and how bad it had been prior to Butch taking over.

Those people scare me, for REAL. I hate all the negavols over there! Every time I go over there, I leave within 10 minutes annoyed by someone. SMH

This roster was horrid. That's why the freshmen look so much better than the upperclassmen. Sutton is a high caliber freshman no doubt but his play was head and shoulders above all of the upperclassmen. That's a major problem when your best players are freshmen. North and Sutton were arguably our two best players last season. That's a major problem when trying to have a successful season in the SEC.

Reeves-maybin and Vereen as well. Horrid roster is right

Probably not pushing for him is my guess. With Cherry in the fold, not sure how many more MLB's they'll take in '15. JMO

I thought I read something about Johnson possibly moving to DE. That would leave us with only Bryant and Cherry going forward wouldn't it?

That's true. It's also possible that another incoming LB grows into a MLB and with us running so much 4-2-5 there's not a need for that many MLB's on the roster, right?
