It truly is amazing that there are millions of dollars at stake and the schools, conferences, etc. allowed the media to be the arbiter for so long.
There is a problem with that. It seems that whatever algorithm was chosen, could be played to by coaches to manipulate their position in the rankings. It would definitely open a few slots on staff for programmers reverse engineering the algorithm.Amen, brother.
I feel the same way about the crooked "committee", all of whom have their own biases, like any human being. It'll never happen, but the only fair method would be a computer algorithm of some kind. I refuse to believe in this day and age of technological possibilities that someone can't come up with a method that would be infinitely better than a bunch of suits with axes to grind.
