I don’t think they’ll be out. Looking at that schedule, they will be right back in the top 10-15 until time to play OSU. That schedule is terrible. No one between now and OSU is close to OU. Imo

That is the story with most or all of the Big Ten teams.

It’s amazing how many people got simple facts about the top 25 wrong in this thread. 10 teams vs 11, this team is here vs there, etc. I guess people are flying through the top 25 and posting quickly but there’s an odd amount of incorrect info for something very simple.

Think about the idiotic preseason polls - overrated teams like Alabama and Michigan have to lose multiple games to drop out, Penn State is rewarded for starting with three (!) cupcakes before their joke Big 10 schedule, while UT will need to beat Georgia just to stay in the rankings with no big games until Alabama in October.

Polls are not used to pick playoff teams. The CFP committee does that based on an approved set of standards & guidelines. They rank the teams by seeding starting in November based on body of work up to that point. This is why we were #1 in the country in the first CFP poll of 2022 despite only being ranked 3rd in the AP poll.

It truly is amazing that there are millions of dollars at stake and the schools, conferences, etc. allowed the media to be the arbiter for so long.

I guess the thing that stands out to me is that Notre Dame went up one spot to #8 with an 0-1 record. Not much logic there and a bad visual.

You could also argue that for South Florida and Florida combination - though like most love to see Florida drop out of the top 25.

And UGA dropped 2 when they beat Appy State by about the same that LSU beat LA Tech. LSU is still getting votes because they beat Clemson even though Clemson struggled with Troy and dropped.

Georgia beat Austin Peay, not Appy State.
