'15 GA DT Quentez Johnson (NC State commit)

I'm gonna guess NC State here. I just don't think he's a take right now for us. We have McKenzie (silent), Picou, and think we land one of Tuttle or DJ. 3 great DTs this class and we are done.

I agree...I just don't think he's a take right now. Maybe if we miss on some guys, but it seems he isn't waiting around to find out.

If he commits to us, then we must only feel good with one out of McKenzie/Tuttle/DJ...or we are taking 4 DTs this cycle.

We need all of the DT's we can get. A lot of teams carry 10-12 DT's We'll have 6 DT's going into 2014. Regardless of the numbers we need to take at least 3 DT's, 4 would be ideal.

I'd bet your right. Very good chance Miami is not taking him back or possibly his reopening his recruitment was not his idea to start with. Maybe Miami decided to go in another direction. NC State seems like the pick here now.

+1...wild times in recruiting and it's STILL only June lol. I love it :)

It has been a wild and fun recruiting season so far. Also, helps that we are in on some major program changing players. Guys we have a ligit chance with: Richmond, McKenzie, Sweat, Tuttle, Jefferson, DJ Jones etc. Man CBJ is making recruiting fun! Even our backup plans are stud players!

Well it looks like the CB predictions are starting to come in for Tennessee.

Is it because UT is the best looking option of the 3, or does someone know something?

I hope it's not the latter to be honest. I like Johnson and think he could be a good player but taking him probably means we've missed on one of our bigger DT targets imo.

Or we're taking at least 4 DTs and your head may explode

If they can take 4, that's cool with me. I won't ever complain about adding DT depth. After taking 8-9 DL guys last year, I'm not sure what the thinking would be adding 7 more this year though and only maybe 6 on the OL over 2 classes.

While I doubt it, maybe being 6'4 330 has the staff thinking OG for Johnson? IF they were looking at another OG, I would think Harrell would be the guy. Maybe Johnson could be an OL option.

If this kid is capable of playing at a high level in the SEC, I say lock him up. There seems to be some question about that, however.

If you have the ability to sign 4 quality and productive DT's.... You do it. Now we don't have to rotate someone like Jordan Williams and put him in the interior of the line... Where he doesn't belong.

Make no mistake about it, Quentez is no slouch of a player.

I just don't see us taking him right now. I think if Picou hadn't committed then Quentez would be a Vol. However, since we've still got McKenzie and DJ Jones to go along with the momentum we've gained with Tuttle I don't think we would take Q.

We will really find out where we stand with Tuttle when this guy commits.

I'm just not seeing it from his film. Is it just me? He looks good, but not SEC good at DT. But he looks like he has the size and quickness to be a great OT. Any chance that's what CBJ is recruiting him to be?

If he were to move to the O-line, he would be a guard IMO.

If this kid is a Vol, then I'm guessing we are whiffing on DJ and Tuttle. I really hope that's not the case, and that's no disrespect to Quentez. I just think putting DJ or Tuttle on the opposite side of Kahlil will take our DT play to a whole new level. Of course, I think Picou on the opposite side of Kahlil would be a nice combo, too, based off of his film.
