Does he rarely change from the first pick or does he need concrete evidence to do so? Seems like the rest change with the latest visit...

Hey, Gibson...

I actually like Rucker ok. He is abrasive, and, he is a Cubs fan. Maybe that is why he is abrasive. Hubbs just seems smug to me. He is usually pretty accurate. I think maybe my opinion of him is forever tainted because of his association with the Sports Animal. I am not very fond of most of their personalities, with John Wilkerson being the main exception.

Fair enough.

I think you get bonus points for the longer your pick is correct. I think a lot of times guys stick with their 1st notion vs flipping them around all the time hoping they get those bonus points. Simmons will flip the pick last minute when he knows his 1st pick is about to be wrong. Of course with how TGs recruitment has played out, would not surprise some if Miami were back in play closer to NSD.

Maybe if they fire their offensive coordinator between now and then.

Makes sense to me if everyone passes if he continues to hold out..

Miami offered him and seemingly was trying to get him. They must have had a plan. His HS coach(IF he plays at American Heritage this year), will have another year to try and talk him into the Canes. Has been widely stated he has been trying.

Well no doubt they want him but I just don't see it happening as long as they're not running an uptempo read-option spread.

And I doubt Rumph will really make that big of a deal out of it. He certainly didn't have a problem with Sony Michel going to UGA last year.

If Gibson commits we'll have 1 QB, and 2 ATH's. Not sure what the big fuss is. Bring in all 3, give them a shot at QB and find out which one of Jennings/Gibson is better at QB and move the other.

We need athletes at every position. You don't turn down a player like Gibson/Jennings because they MAY be good at playing QB.

Be careful now, this post makes too much sense. The Gibson haters will target you now.

I swear I don't think I remember a thread with people actively hoping AGAINST a 5 star talent coming to Tennessee. I understand you guys claim to not be star gazers. It doesn't matter. It's still silly.

Gibson said after his season which probably means December. He has never changed that.

Why do people get this stuff mixed up? TG never said he was going to wait until NSD. Just after his season, which just like you said probably December. And I have a feeling whatever school he wants to commit to will take him in a split second.

You're not alone Kurt, it puzzles a lot of us. One of the best players in the country want to come here and there are those that just flat out don't want him. I guess some think we are Alabama and have super stud players on the bench and can afford to turn away ultra talented players. It's sad.

It's a numbers thing...this gives his worshippers tiredhead, but when it comes down to the nitty gritty, I don't want to tell a lineman or linebacker that we can't take their commitment because we MIGHT be in on a THIRD QB!!! Try to understand...we don't "hate" your hero...we prioritize other potential talent/needs...proceed mischaracterizing. :good!:

Yeah that's it keep wishing one of the best players in the country DOESNT come here.

There is no numbers issue. We won't turn away an elite talent for Gibson. If he comes the worst player committed at the position we need the least will be asked to grey shirt or look elsewhere.

There is no might be in it for him. We squarely are. Everyone except about 4 or 5 die hards accepts that.

Add that to the fact he will commit AFTER THE SEASON. Which means probably Dec and we will still have spots. Several prospects will wait till closer to signing day in Feb. If we get Gibson in Dec it helps us close a few big names. So if anybody will be replaced its because a big name player at another position picks us in Jan or Feb.

See the thing is the coaches know more about what we need more than everybody on here combined. So if the coaches feel that TG is a take at QB, why would you question it? Is it you think you are more qualified to make that kind of decision?

No it's a hate thing disguised as a numbers thing. Teams don't turn down talent like TG. Oh and it's not our hero. It's about one of the best players in the country wanting to play for us, which almost any other schools fan base would be ecstatic over. Only on VN would we have morons that think otherwise.
