No, I really can't remember a time when I heard a female admit she was wrong and actually believed it.
Anyway..... gibson, I would like to get him in orange, no homo, I would think we can find room for an athlete like him. Especially if we take him as a wide receiver who could be moved to QB if needed. (just to switch this whole debate around)
Why would you want Gibson as a WR? That would mean we would have to commit another QB? I know that Jajuan Jennings wants to play QB and will be given a chance to do so, but his future is at Safety. I believe that if you think we will be successful in signing Gibson as a WR ahead of Auburn, LSU and others, who want him as a QB, you are not thinking straight.
On QD commitment:
Its a business, Gibson told govols247. When a kids decided to commit and hes ready to commit, you cant hold that against him. I feel like I (still) can go in and play early (at Tennessee). I have no problem with competition, and I have no problem competing for the job. Thats what football is all about, is competing and having fun.
LBV , Tux, PVvol, burger etc
On QD commitment:
I'm pretty sure some of us have said UT would not take 3 QBs. TG claiming he would compete for the job does not affect the previous stated opinions. He may be willing to come in and compete, that does not change the fact UT has 2 QBs committed and history says they won't take 3. :dunno:
I'd also point out talk is cheap. If he won't show up to passing camps to compete, not sure I'd wager much that he would come in to "compete" at Tennessee at QB.
Someone mentioned Riley. I'd bet if/when asked about "competing" headed into college he said the right things as well.
Of course if he comes to UT he will have to compete as the WR depth chart is pretty well stacked.
What are your opinions on this idea:
Worley leads the team this year, Dobbs gets some time as well to become the veteran. Gibson comes in and starts over Dobbs because he just can't be kept off the field next year. Dormady redshirts. Dobbs mentors them both and is a ready to go backup. Gibson leaves early, leaving Dormady with two years to finally showcase his gunslinging ability to our stacked WR core.
Personally, I think this is a win-win scenario for everyone of our QBs here, maybe with the adjustment of maybe Dobbs starting next year if Gibson needs to redshirt to improve.
If/When he signs with our Vols and is lined up at QB, I will gladly do so.
If/When he signs and is a WR, I'll welcome him just as I do any recruit.
If/When he commits elsewhere, I'll wish him luck.
:good!:
You say we will not take 3 qbs. You are wrong. No way you can debate that. Gibson isn't even the only one they are recruiting. We are after Francois also.
Slow down hoss. Gibson's comments do not amount to a commitment. :hi:
I was not saying he committed. The argument has been we wouldn't take Gibson or if we did it would be at wr. They also have said we will not take 3 qbs no matter what. That is wrong. We are after at least 2 qbs still, one being Gibson. Why would would Butch be recruiting players really hard that are top 15 and top 100 players if we wouldn't take them?
