Look at the situation that CBJ inherited and how well he's recruiting now, I don't think it's a stretch to say he's the 2nd best recruiting HC in the SEC.

I mean I thought Dormady was a Bama lock when they offered at their 'QB tryout'. That was very impressive by Butch to beat Saban and Kiffin.

I agree. I'm saying no one is, considering the circumstances, a better recruiter.

UT has been sh!t for several years, and he still has the whole nation's attention on the recruiting trail. It's pretty incredible.

I don't think Saban is any better a recruiter than some of the other SEC HC's. Players just gravitate toward consistently winning teams. CBJ is having to match Saban without that element.

Even though Bamer has been pulling in some monster classes, their competition has gotten brutal all of a sudden, and we are going to be part of it. I predict they will lose at least 2 games in the regular season, this year, and part of that NC luster is going to wear off mighty quick. Kiffin will help see to that. :salute:

I hope he commits to Tennessee after all and makes everyone eat crow. Poetic justice.

Commits on National Signing Day, subsequently wins starting job and forces Dormady to switch to tight end.

He hasn't committed yet, so how can you claim we are taking 3? Their isn't anyway to keep 3 QB prospects from the same class happy. It's hard to keep 2 onboard.

Like I said, I have always pulled for us to get him....I just don't see how this would work if both JJ and TG were committed. It's kind of like CBJ taking more than 25 last class....maybe he's like "We'll figure it out when we get there."

But again, he hasn't committed yet, and if he holds to his original timeline, it's a long, long, long way to NSD

You have been saying we would not or will not take three. If he does decide to come we would take him. True? Who cares if the guys who don't win the job are happy? If you get beat out and wanna mope adios. If you want the job handed to you like Ferguson we don't need you either.

Butch is an absolute beast at recruiting. I think he's only second to Saban now, and I'm not sure how much longer Saban will be able to hold him off.

credit to Dillon Bates and TKJR here as well. Those two had to spend majority of time with TG as I'm sure coaches were limited on contact they could have. I'm sure we have some hot girls to thank as well.

It's nice to have some big time player recruiters again

Yeah Bama is just a well oiled machine right now but the uptick in read-option spread offenses will be the end of Saban imo. He just cannot defend it when the other team has an athletic QB. Kiffin will be the scapegoat though, when they lose 3 games this season.

I think having so many young guns on campus excited for fall HAS to help on these officials. Imagine being around 30+ guys that just bought into what CBJ is selling.

Wasn't his initial recruiting class ranked #1 even coming off a losing season. I love Butch but lets take the blinders off.

What news? Until he commits, it doesn't mean a whole lot. I'm excited about it, but he's named a new leader each time he visits somewhere. I also don't know what you're trying to prove with this whole "Gibson haters" shtick. Just because some of us don't buy the notion that we are taking 3 QB's in this class, doesn't mean we don't want the guy. I just don't personally see how it could work.

It could be that JJ is asked to start out at safety first, and if he's not down with that, then he de-commits. It could be that CBJ asks both of them to battle for one QB spot and the loser agrees to move to another position where their prospects of making an impact is greater and NFL prospects are brighter.

Who knows? We will probably be guessing at this for some time.

Gibson has visited the following schools: UF, Miami, AU, Clemson, UT, LSU and OU. So out of those schools who has he said were leading for him? According to your statement all of them.

The Gibson hater just stems on people coming into his thread trashing his skills and saying negative things about him. Also you're one that thinks TG has no shot to come here and play QB when you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Now it could be that CBJ wants to recruit him to play another position and if he wants that then I am 100% in support of that. Until I hear differently, I am going to assume CBJ is still recruiting him as a QB.

Here is another point. Earlier in this thread you said that JJ said that CBJ told him he could play QB. I told you that Gibson said that CBJ told him he was their #1 QB recruit. So I guess JJ is telling the truth and TG is lying. The fact that one of the best players in the country wants to come to UT and play should garner nothing less than jubilation. Yet there are some that want to nitpick things about his passing skills and small character issues. Both of which can be improved upon.

I'll say one more thing about Bamer's recruiting class. It's like the old adage, "Don't believe your own press clippings."
Recruiting services have a bad habit of giving a healthy bump in their ratings to players Bamer goes after.

Some times those players are legit, and sometimes the bump was bogus. That reality caught up with Florida State years ago. They were just like Bamer....in the Top 3-5 every damn year, for a while. Then they started to regress sharply, almost overnight.

So, I contend that Bamer's actual talent level is significantly lower than the rankings would indicate. When they pull a No.1 class....in reality, it's probably more like a Top 5-10 class, and the services are just giving them an artificial boost...because it's Saban.

This is how TAMU was able to upset Bamer 2years ago and nearly beat them last year. Then how an Auburn team that had a losing record the year before was able to steal Saban's marbles last year....not to mention OU the very next game.

Bamer players have largely been overrated coming into the league the past 4-5yrs, and that's one reason why teams weren't buying the hype as much this time around.

Forrest, you are simply full of sh!ite. Don't try and put words in my mouth. I know what I said and didn't say. I NEVER said TG wasn't able to play QB here. Show me where I said that or sit down and STFU! I'm not arguing with you about stuff I never said.

I said that JJ stated in interviews that he was told he was recruited as a QB and that was the position he wanted to play. Then that leaves one more slot for a QB. Dormady took it. That's the end of the story unless something else changes.

You just like hearing yourself b!tch about something.

This is a very angry thread.

Vols bashing Vols is never a good thing.

I am glad we have JJ, I am glad Dormady comited, and I am glad we still lead for Gibson.

I would love to have all 3, I am sure the coaches will work out where they play and the best man will win the QB spot on the practice field.

Three 4*-5* football players coming to Knoxville is a great thing!

The feel of stupidity you will feel IF we get Gibson and CBJ puts him at QB......priceless. Feel free to continue with your obtuse insults though.
