Opinions on this recruitment are astoundingly weird

It seems some people don't care to land a 5-star prospect at a position of need. This makes no sense.

I doubt people said the same of Jalen Hurd just because there were other RBs out there. When there's mutual interest, it's a good thing to pursue a commitment. You wouldn't turn Hurd with the hopes of landing Fournette (as an analogy).

He's a 5 star ATH to a lot of people. Not necessarily a 5 star QB. A lot of people would rather have a more polished passer

Bruin was a defeatist...it seemed like whenever he commented on a prospect, it was to pronounce our chances for him as doomed...Leb believes we can land anyone...but won't have room. :)

I was referring to the fact that both will say the same thing over and over and over and over and..well, you get the idea.

I try to look at things as realistic as I can. I feel some we can get and won't shy away from saying I don't like our chances with others. I'll never be a guy who buys into the "CBJ can get anyone he wants", but it's just not reality. IMO We'll have room for a very good class. Seeing that Rivals only ranks the top 20, kind of sets up well for us IMO. :)

How pitiful it would be if he came in here and read the 'he sucks' jokes without knowing the background!

Sign TG up and let's see some TDs to North, Croom, Pearson, Pig, JJ, Jenkins, Vic, Preston, and whoever else wants to commit!

Really looking forward to the offense this year and beyond.

QB: Worley, Peterman, Dobbs, Jennings, Gibson?
RB: Lane, Devrin, Hurd, Paulk, Scott, Reid, Love?
TE: Downs, Branisel, Wolf, Helm
WR: Pearson, Gamble, JJ, Pig, Croom, North, Jenkins, Wharton, Malone, Williams

Just got to keep the talent around on D and build depth.

Could see us taking 3to QB's. Especially with Gibson waiting so long if someone like the guy from TX wanted to committ they could take him and have a guy they like if Gibson choses AU. Then if Gibson chooses UT we could keep all 3. Especially with Fergy gone and Worley graduating. That only leaves 2 scholly QB's. Not a good situation to be in. Jennings, Dormady or Waller and hopefully Gibson. Especially not for sure knowing if Jennings is an SEC QB.

Always have to consider if the coaches try and take 3 QBs, do either of Jennings/Dormandy(or whoever they take as #2) or both decide to look elsewhere.

If UT takes 2 QBs or 3 in this cycle it should not matter to Gibson as long as he is one of them. If he reaches even close to his ceiling he will play QB here. His best chance to play QB and play QB early is here. His best chance to leave his own mark is here as well.

IF Gibson hits his potential at QB, Heisman is a possibility here at UT with the WR corp we have currently.

Not to start the offense debate again but imo auburn offense would be better for a heisman campaign.

If Gibson reaches his potential it will not matter whether he is at AU or UT, he will have a shot at it. Difference is he will be the first at UT and will have better WRs to throw to.

What is Gibson's biggest question right now? His ability as a passer. What helps a QB more than elite WR talent?

Absolutely agree 100%. It would make things much more simple if Gibson would committ early so the Coach's know where they stand. Do they take a chance and wait on Gibson or if Dormady, Darnold or anoth guy wants to committ do you take it and if Gibson does become a Vol do you let it play out with the other 2? Definitely not an ideal situation because if you do wait on Gibson and he picks AU then you lost the other guys then they have a big problem with QB depth. Being in a desperate QB position is not good. I don't envy the Coach's having to make that decision but do have 100% faith in Coach Jones.

Coaching. If a qb is truly elite then he make his receivers better

I think most people would agree that a more polished passer would be the best 2nd QB to take in 2015. The big risk for me is turning down a potential game changer like TG for someone that could be a Riley Ferguson or Nathan Peterman (no offense to those players, we've just been disappointed). No matter who you choose, you undertake risk. The only way to mitigate risk is to have depth. I'm glad I'm not the one having to handle the recruiting, though.
