Kid is a freak, and he is at auburn today, which btw is a qb killer, IMO Gibson wants to throw the ball not run it between the tackles. That being said the recruits these days live on twitter and ppl who retweet and favorite their posts. Volnation needs to follow these recruits and listen to what they say IMO we can help in the recruiting process

As a passing QB, yes. Some of his worst games with more than 10 attempts were:
Washington State 10-19, 52%
LSU 17-33, 51%
Texas A&M 11-23, 47%
FSU 14-27 51%

When he throws the ball occasionally he does pretty well for the most part..but when he's relied on to win a game through the air, his stats suffer.

Then Worley is beyond absolute trash as a passing QB and we are screwed this year.

I'd be shocked if he committed today. Those that think he will are the ones that think everyone that shows up to campus will commit before leaving. While this is very positive on our end that he showed up, I really, really don't think he will commit today or anytime soon for that matter.

Auburn site is pretty confident they pull Gibson and some are predicting he commits this weekend. Looks like they are trying to cash in on their Big Cat Weekend...

Ain't gonna happen. Gibson has shown he has a commitment plan and he's gonna stick to it. It'll be the Barn in the end, though, cause we'll already have 2 QB's committed by then.

MSU 23/34 339 yds Auburn won 24-20 Georgia 15/26 229 yds Auburn won 43-38

Generally more attempts = less comp % for all quarterbacks. It's just math not a lack of talent. Is he the greatest throwing QB on earth no but he is far from trash.

There may be a few that think like that, but most do not see a commitment this weekend. There are a couple of others on "commit watch" but he is not one of them.

(For those interested, Carl Lawson had a lingering knee problem from Spring practice and had surgery this week. Word is that me may well have to medical redshirt this year).

Hate that. Seems like a good kid.

Okay maybe trash was harsh..but he's very very average, less than average throwing the ball.

And I agree, Worley is pretty awful throwing the ball as well.

That's fair. I think Marshall had the strongest arm of any sec QB last year, as far as sheer distance and zip. You're right though, his accuracy is average at best.

That throw at the end of the UGA game though, he effortlessly launched it at least 60 yards in the air. Barely stepped into it and quick/short armed it. No reaching back, running start, long release. That was amazing to me. You're right though, accuracy isn't great.

Excellent point!!! :salute:

Gibson is a fantastic athlete, but I don't see him playing QB in a system loaded with elite Wrs.

It may prove to be a fact the UT coaches want Gibson in Orange. It may also prove to be kind of like the Harrell and Johnson situations. I'd guess the coaches have not informed any of the recruiting services who is actually #1-whatever on their actual board. Maybe he is #1 on their QB board. Maybe he is #6. Obviously I am not one to just buy into the "highest rated" is our #1.

:dunno:

He's going to Auburn, I can feel it...

I think so as well. I believe AU would take Locksley if they could get him. IMO he decides to play for dad at Maryland and AU will go all in for Gibson and he signs there. Of course if Waller chooses OR, Gibson and osu may still be possible. IMO for him to be a Vol he would need to commit before Aug 1st. I just don't see that playing out.
