Oh???...so they stopped recruiting...err "flirting" with Locksley? I think you're giving his "thought process" too much buildup...he probably spent his suspended day kneecapping a librarian and tweeted his Final 7 Manifesto whilst scarfing down Krystal burgers!!
The fact that we almost lost him to you guys was scary, to say the least. Coach Jones did a wonderful job of getting a hat on the table in such little time. Coach Thig helped a lot too with the relationship already built there and things but I was 100% nervous. Testament to y'all's recruiting ability. In the end, I think his love for Auburn won out but it wasn't because a lack of effort by your staffLambert, Yes AU beat us for him.
Lawson on the other hand was committed to AU for almost a year while Butch had a little over a month to recruit him. Tough to say that Butch got "beat" with that one imo. It was impressive how he nearly pulled Lawson with such a small amount of time.

If we drink orange kool aid, what color does this guy sip on?
It was his love for $$$$$ that won out in the end. That's cool though. We are building the team on high character players so we don't have to take short cuts and dodge the NCAA every year. And nothing about the way Lambert handled his recruitment screams 'high character'. Keep him off of that synthetic weed. Don't want him to go out and start robbing people on the plains.

I think what you quoted was RE: Lawson, not Lambert. :hi:
Oh yeah I forgot about him. It's funny that AU sold Ford on playing RB in Malzahn's system then promptly moved him to DB as soon as he got on campus. I bet Ford would've got carries at UT imo.
Back to the original point, either way you look at it Butch is beating Auburn for recruits now as that wasn't the case when Dooley was running the show.
Oh...well.... My apologies for misreading who we were talking about. Yeah, the Lawson's handled their recruitment with class.
Sorry for the confusion. Still feel the Auburn's and Bama's get to play with a different set of rules in today's football climate.
We now return to your regular scheduled thread pertaining to Torrance Gibson.
:hi:
I believe that last part was about Lawson. Lambert is a liar, Lawson seems like a good kid that I wish Butch had longer to recruit.
I actually met and had a class with Lawson this past semester (I just graduated from AU), and he was very articulate and just seemed like a down-to-earth, all-around nice dude. Seemed very humble, which is not the case with most of the other college football players I've come into contact with. He is probably gonna have a very long and prosperous career on Sundays. I just hope we don't have to play against the next couple of years cause he is probably only going to get better.
Actually, it would be fine with me if we played against him this year as that would mean we made the SEC Championship game.

Yes Gibson and Jennings are very similar. But whatif Gibson is better (which is popular belief). *What if he is not?
Dormandy runs a pass friendly offense. If people are going to rag on TG for his offense, you cant just overlook everyone else's. He can read defenses somewhat and is pretty accurate but he seems to be lacking arm strength. *His arm looks just fine to me.
You're implying that you would take dormandy and williams over Gibson. Thats just insane. *Williams would be a walk-on. If Gibson wanted to walk-on, I'd be alright with taking Gibson over Williams IF we landed Dormady.
I either want Gibson or Francois. They are the most talented QBs that we have the best chance at. Gibson's elite athleticism cant be taught. No one would be questioning Marcus Mariota deciding to transfer here even though they are basically the same player. *MM has done it on the top level of college football, TG is going to be a HS SR if/when he gets admitted back to school.
Francois can make plays with his legs too. Although its not necessary to have a mobile QB, Its an added dimension to Francois game. He also is a talented passer from the pocket.* I agree Francois would be a great pickup, I just don't see us really in it to land his signature.
Marriota is pretty darned accurate, much more so than Gibson IMO. Calling them the same player is a bit of a stretch. Marriota is very smart too. Not saying Gibson isn't, but Marriota is pretty special in all areas, not just an insane athlete that makes easy throws and runs a lot, which is what Gibson seems to be to me.

Yeah I agree. IMO they are not comparable at all.
