I was just explaining the discrepancy between Jennings/Gibson's numbers. It certainly helps to have those dynamic players. He took it advantage of it, as he should.
It won't affect his ability to be a QB in college but these camps give scouts and coaches a chance to see each QB try to make every pass they could potentially call on them to try to make.
There is a rationality behind it. I think some folks don't want UT to be seen as a "System program". By that I mean a college program that has gimmicks that don't prepare it's players for a career in the NFL. A lot of Vol fans like seeing guys like Manning and Berry excel in the pros instead of fizzling out like Tebow and other "system QBs."
That's not my opinion but it is an opinion I've heard eschewed and one I can't find extremely illogical.
Not sure what to think about being tied with the Barn. As we all know, we hate losing a recruit to the Barn. With that said, as much as I would love for him to be a VFL, I believe Butch will get us a good QB and maybe we already have one.
Co-leaders with Auburn, as well as this tidbit from the 247 report:
In June, Gibsonn will head to Tennessee for its quarterback camp, which will feature Jon Gruden. Hell also be at The Opening in Beaverton, Ore., in July.
