This all day. People are nitpicking on the small things. The things he needs work on can be fixed easily at the collegiate level. His athleticism and talent cannot be taught. There is a reason why he is one of the most sought after QB's in the country.

*Sought after athletes

He's just an athlete. Not a quarterback. There are others who are better.

If he's the starting QB at Appalachian State next year.

If CBJ decides he is not our guy then I am totally fine with that. I just always thought it was a little ridiculous that you and some others were downing this kid. He has tremendous skill and upside. The fact that many of the top programs in the country are recruiting him hard proves that.

All this talk about him not being a QB and being moved to WR is rumors. Until I hear it officially, he is still a QB. I wonder how many of you who doubt his passing abilities would feel if TG went to OSU and became Miller 2.0?

Also how would you deal with CBJ signing him? Could you deal with that seeings how you think he is not a good QB?

Most rumors are based in truth. I could see Torrance being moved to receiver no matter where he goes.

I even said in this thread that Butch values him and he's a take if he abandons this ESPN Signing Day Press conference pipe dream...I don't think he will and he will lose his spot to a lower regarded prospect.

Gibson is going to WR unless UT plays the wishbone and runs the triple option.

With the talent that UT recruits at WR and wants to keep recruiting top WRs, then it had better recruit top echelon drop back passers, instead of trying to make QBs out of RBs and WRs.

Some of y'all are so premature. Get him on campus, give him a chance. He'll bring other big recruits with.

Serious question. If his own teammates can't stand him(that seems to be what the reports are saying), how long till other recruits see him as more of a problem than someone they want to play alongside?

Totally agree. A "running" QB at UT needs to carry it about 4-5 times a game for a total of maybe 25 yards. Let the RBs get the tough yards. Let the star WRs/TEs make the plays down the field. It's not complicated.

None of us know what is going on. Let's just trust that CBJ will make the right decision regarding the team's future. I'm sure he will get us a good QB whether it be Gibson, Francois, Darnold, or some one else. I'm sure he'll find an elite QB who wants to play with Preston, Josh, and Marquez.

Seconded, the QB needs to be quick-thinking, smart, and a leader of the team. He also needs to be able to make every throw. I don't see that in Gibson. He's a five star athlete, but a three star QB.

I think the coaches feel they got a good QB when they took Jennings commitment. I really see Jennings and Gibson as about the same "QB" as of right now. IMO 1 project QB in a class is plenty.

The QB needs to be a winner. Thats it. It doesn't matter if hes throwing a 75 yd TD or running it in.

Gibson is a good quarterback... period. He's a junior in high school, obviously there are going to be plenty of things for him to work on - Peyton Manning had plenty to work on when he got to UT.

I posted a video earlier, to show that the expectations shouldn't be unrealistic. However, he's definitely one of the best QB's in this class, as-well-as one of the most electric players available in the entire recruiting class.

Before the ranking services moved him to 'athlete', they had him ranked as the #1 or #2 Dual-Threat QB in all of America. You don't get that sort of ranking without the skill to play the position, or the potential to become great on the collegiate level.

Torrance Gibson to Tennessee would be one of the biggest recruiting scores in years.

Not til after they're on campus, IMO. If he even is a problem. I don't know enough to go there yet. What I do know is he's got sway.

You do get that ranking by prostituting and politicking the recruiting services. We've seen that many times.
